Feature-worthy is purely and solely determined by the people with the ability to feature storygames. ^_^ Always has been. Featured isn't necessarily a declaration of "the best/most popular stories," it's the stories that the admins want to put on display. That's why Top Rated is a category: "Readers say these stories are the best."
One of the reasons HP8 maintains its 8/8 is that it's hard to finish. 12,000 people played it- 250 finished/left ratings. 99.5% of those are 8s. I think there's one 1. Comparatively, Necromancer has 6000 ratings, 4000 of which are 8s, but 400 of which are 1s.
I've heard madglee did in fact write a sequel. Once in a forum he expressed surprise that no one had yet found it. His profile is important. There's a reason he keeps the same point total.
I've also asked madglee if he'd consider republishing mommy. He's been inactive since he took it down, and I wasn't comfortable cracking his account to see if it was still there.
At the time Sindri was writing HP, the admins of the day decreed that going forward only one game out of a series would be featured. (There was also a Star Wars series in fanfic that was featured.) The idea being that one series shouldn't dominate the feature category. (recursively, that's also why it's HP7 instead of HP8- admin thought that one was too hard, would discourage new visitors.)
I featured your stories because yes, those categories were very light, and also because especially edutainment hadn't had anything feature-worthy in a long time. It's kind of sad that hardly anything quality is being made lately.
School is waiting for Kiel to finish his Magic Academy game ;)
