Player Comments on Algebra Game

OK, there were several errors in the math itself.
For example, the first question only accepted the equation of a horizontal line (not the slope) as the correct answer.
The second one asked how to calculate (as in, give me a formula) the slope, but you only gave me a mnemonic that only people with pre-existent knowledge from elementary would recognize, not an actual specific calculation.
Spell correctly. Also, most people are more familiar with lowercase variables in the linear equation.
One question asked for a slope of 1 and gave the answers x=1 and y=1. One does not use y to represent slope; if for some reason you chose to use the variable y to represent slope, then you should have said so earlier, but you actually told us that M represented slope.
And then the last question was very unclear but also entirely incorrect. The answer was that the y-intercept does not have a variable, but earlier you told us that B represented the y-intercept.
Honestly, it seems like some of this stuff was copy/pasted from a Quizlet or something like that.
Because that's where this belongs, Quizlet. Not a site for entertaining storygames (Maybe if you use Quizlet you can get the right notation for x squared. It's also much more compatible with a classroom setting).
Wow, maybe I should tone it down a bit. Sorry, kid from middle school. In the future, I expect you to post an entertaining game about Calculus here. Try and stick in some groovy math characters too.

Well, this is exactly what it says in the title. I don't think I can't fault a game when the title itself is rather straightforward, this is a game on algebra. Well 'game' in the looset sense of the word, because this is more of a quiz in actuality. There's not much to say here, as this isn't a storygame but I did feel a bit proud of myself when I saw that I did do better a second time around.

Honestly, the quiz itself is rather simple, because I never really considered myself a absolute algebra expert, but I did quite well both times that I've played this. Henceforth, I think that this quiz and any quiz of this nature would certainly benefit in being more difficult, because one can't really experience any great feeling of accomplishment in completing something that is for the most part not very challenging.

This is a simple quiz at the end of ths day, and it's not one with much depth too since it's literally just answering algebra questions. Perhaps this would've been a bit more fascinating if these questions were presented with some sort of story narrative accompanying it. But that's just my opinion, because I do feel that this quiz serves its purpose well as a algebra quiz.

It's not just the fact that it's a math game...or maybe it is. I didn't like it. I got a bad score because I haven't done this kind of math in a while.

I don’t like math. I’d like to think I’m good at math but American morons keep changing the math standards so it doesn’t make sense! None of this your fault. This is a simple game about math and it does what it set out accomplish.

Other than that this was fine. You could have made it a math game instead of a quiz to make it more interesting but other than that it was fine.

Perhaps it was due to me being dutch and all, but I'm just getting confused with the terms and all that english brabble. No sane person needs to know what an idependent variable is to calculate what X is supposed to represent.

I think it could be made more accessible if you just gave people calculations to do and math puzzles to solve which would be a lot more fun for more people. Perhaps add a difficulty level too!

Before I forget, it would be useful to know why I'm wrong in the first place when I choose the wrong option as it is an edutainment game.

Not only is this a stupid quiz, but it also has a number of stupid errors. Should be deleted in case any children decide to use it to study.

This was pretty bad, honestly.
Like others have said, many of the answers are incorrect and several of the questions and answers contradict each other. I won't go into detail since there's already a perfectly good review on top. I have no idea how this even has a 3.

I think it is okay for an Algebra Game. One thing I would suggest is to add a calculator function. Sorry if I missed it.

y=0 isn't the slip of a horizontal line lol. Pretty sure y'=0 is.

Er, y=0 is not the slope of a horizontal line. That just means a particular line where y=0. Yes, that particular line is horizontal, but so is y=1, and y=2, and y=n where n is any real number. If you wanted to write an equation to signify the slope of a horizontal line, you probably probably should have used m=0. Or perhaps you could have written delta y = 0 (referring to the difference of the y coordinates equaling zero).

Another thing, there isn't a lot of algebra in this. I figured we would be solving some equations or something. Still, applause for making a math gamfinal.

The first page had a great ending.

Thanks for this! I've never done any form of algebra before and thought I was horrible at math in general. Not sure if the answers/questions are accurate or whatever, but thanks for giving me some of the basics I'll need! ;) Keep goin'!

The slope of a line is not "y=" or "x=". It is just the slope.

Also, please check for spelling. For example, it's "dependent" and "independent", not "dependant" and "independant".

Took Algebra last year in 7th grade and it was nice to review on it thanks.

It was a decent game, especially since I'm learning algebra and slopes right now in my honors math, but could have been more difficult.

I got 8 out of 11. pretty good considering i barely passed algebra.

The y= and x= when asking for slope are incorrect. It should just say m= when asking for the slope.

What was the point of having an End Game and Leave Comments button on the first page? If you play a game you surely won't want to leave without even bothering to play it.

I give it 4/8 because it was slightly more fun than homework. But, it is a good quiz, probably one of the best.
