That's right, you gotta try and become a supervillain. You start off with crimes as simple as pretending to raise money for charity and keeping it, but maybe later you can move on to world domination. This game might be a little repetitive and frustrating, and most of the story is nothing special either, but the next one (if I make one) will be better.

I’m genuinely confused why this game is rated so high. I understand that it’s from a bygone era, and I guess I haven’t read too many of those, but even if this were the standard for stories from the early 2000s, I feel that there are enough fundamental errors that keep it from being as enjoyable as the other reviewers say.

First, you do not become a supervillain in this game. You just graduate from petty theft to grand theft auto and motiveless murder if you want. One of the key elements of a supervillain is a good backstory that explains what makes them a supervillain. This is entirely absent in this case.

This was also in the sci fi category, which itself is a crime. There are zero sci fi elements. In fact, there’s a scene where someone breaks into your house to deliver a note and tells you to answer a call in a phone booth. Like, is this the thirties. If a 2006 story is in the sci fi category, people at the least should fax me instead of breaking into my house.

Speaking of the ending, that note has some of the cringy, “we’re gonna kill you, just kidding” humor that sticks itself in this kind of story all too often. I was also confused that the swat team showed up at the phone booth, but was nowhere to be seen when I blew the redneck’s head off in the gun shop in broad daylight.

I will say that it was very well spell checked, but really, that’s about it. There must have been a lot less to do in 2006 if people thought this was exciting. Even at the time, I probably would have stuck to my Boxcar Children books.

I suppose all of this could be fixed in the sequel, but I don’t care. It’s so short there should even be a sequel.

That was a fun game although I am a bit sad that I couldn't seem to get enough money to buy the limo.
