Hello I've been lurking around on and off for a bit and decided it was time to come out of my shell. So some facts about me. Fact #1 it might seem odd but I don't feel a lot of pressure to write a modern epic don't get me wrong I want to write a good story but if it isn't spectacular oh well. Fact #2 my writing has always lacked an unique voice. When I write I can't seem to make it so you can look at it and say,  "Ah tmanaking wrote this." Fact #3 I really enjoy the almost family like atmosphere on this site. There are fights, times of great laughter and even those cousins you pretend don't exist. Final fact one of my favorite stories on here is snow, until I read that I didn't understand how emotionally impactful cyoa could be. Thanks for reading through the ramblings and I look forward to becoming a part of this community :)

Not wanting to write an epic for your first story isn't odd at all; it's encouraged, in fact. Too many newbies try to manage a large storygame, only to be burnt out before it can be finished.

I recommend reading Will's How Not To Write and The Land of Bad Writing since they may help you with any future storygames you may write. In addition, here’s a story that is a good example of what not to do. Moral of the story: listen to constructive criticism.

I also recommend taking a surf through all the articles in the Help & Info section, two in particular being a helpful list made by StrykerL and an excellent article on proper forum posting, if you haven’t seen it yet that is. One resource in particular worth mentioning is a very good resource for designing a storygame.

I wish you luck in any creative writing endeavors you embark on! There's also a ton of good content on this website, so I hope you find the time to read any of the featured storygames.

Thank you I'll make sure take a look at those articles. I'm not sure I want to quite jump into a contest just yet there are some  truly skilled authors on here. Hard to hide lack of skill if you can just scroll down and read something a 100 times better :)
