Seeing as the forums seem to turn to "Hey guys, it's me, Nameless Fucktard #2487223, I'm back!", stupid questions about whether things are derogatory/legal/sports or goddamn anime, I guess it's up to me to add a little conflict to this place. So, speed round on interesting things I noticed in the week, mainly through binge-watching Youtube to see what happened. Anyhow, several interesting things I want your opinions on, mainly for the purpose of arguing with you!

1. Charle Gard is a baby that was diagnosed with mitochondrial DNA depletion syndrome. Basically, he's blind, deaf, has severe brain damage and lots of organ failure. His parents wanted to keep him alive to try some experimental treatment that was very unlikely to work, but the NHS refused to keep him going on account of all the additional suffering, and so far the courts have agreed its inhumane to extend his suffering when in all likelihood this is it for him. The NHS then refused to let the child go home with the parents in fear they'd abscond. The Pope and Trump all spoke on it, plus there was a shit ton of news, so you know the story. If not, use google. Anyhow, whose in the right, and where is the line between parental control and government control? The government shouldn't let a paedophile rape his kid sure, but it shouldn't be getting involved if a parent lets a kid watch a violent movie. Where's the line?

2. Some kid got in trouble for ordering a sex doll made to resemble a kid. Details don't matter. Anyhow, child porn. What's the line? Honestly, I'm not even entirely sure. Some of you insane fuckers will probably be OK with direct child porn, but what if it doesn't even show a real child, like a cartoon, or a story, or even a drawing? If there's no child harmed in any way, should it still be banned? How childish can something be before it hits the line? I've seen a lot of creepily childish anime stuff that seems to be allowed. Answers, people. Answers.

3. There was some concert in Sweden where there was a shit ton of sexual assault called Bravala. Well, four rapes and twenty three sexual assaults, which now that I think about it isn't too many sexual assaults in the grand scheme of things, but I guess that shit's under-reported to a great deal. Anyhow, that shit was canceled for the next year, and now they're holding a man-free music festival. Is that shit sexist, or just protecting women, or...? Throwing me opinion in, because I never seem to do that, that all seems incredibly sexist and pretty much insults any men who've had that shit happen to them, or pretty much any men who don't sexually assault, but yeah, your opinions.

Yeah, but there's so little information on how exactly they were used. For all we know they could'vr just been holding the dogs there to bark at them amidst the killing. We're they set upon the people, or made to herd people into a killING zone, or what.

There's actually a lot more detail on the Spaniards usage of them than on the medieval warfare stuff. They'd just sort of turn them loose in a fight since Native Americans didn't wear armor, or use them for executions since that scared everyone shitless. Cartoons should be fine, since there's usually excuses like "she's a thousand year old vampire or some shit" and there's also "she's a child but only briefly appears in this porn as an extra or a plot thing" so borderline shit will be hard to regulate and might even potentially get in the way of normal people's porn. Speaking of things that don't exist, I'm really having trouble finding sources/videos/whatever realistically explaining the use of war dogs in ancient times, and I'd really appreciate some help because this is an important and interesting thing. I'd imagine they'd be pretty effective just let loose in pack ahead of a charge. Even if they can't get though armor you'd have to be pretty well trained to not be distracted by the wall of fur and fangs in your face in the crucial moments right before the first wave of enemy soldiers hits. 1. In this case, the government is right. The parent should have the most pull when it comes to what happens with their children. However, this isn't the case when the parent's wishes (or actions) are seriously and needlessly endangering the children.
2. Nothing wrong with that. I believe it is only illegal if actual children are involved, though I'm sure some people have gotten busted for having a lolicon stash (I know of at least one case). Anyway, I personally don't see a problem with this kind of pornography unless it has an actual child in it. Drawings, sex dolls, toys, cartoons, hentai - these are not real children. They are not real people. Also, one cannot control what they are sexually attracted to no more than they can control their skin color. In a way, pedophilia, hebephilia, ephebophilia, etc are a sexual orientations. That being said, there are laws in this country that dictate acting on these urges are illegal. I wouldn't consider this to be acting on it.
3. These sexual assaults were probably done by some Muslims. They've been doing that almost unchecked ever since that refugee crisis started. So I have no problem with this next event blocking out men. Yeah, men get sexually assaulted and raped too, but I don't think it happens as much as it does to women (in fact, I'm certain of it). Rape and other forms of sexual assault are one of the worst crimes a person can do to another human being and I'd have all rapists tortured, castrated, and executed because I hate them so much. The brazen bull isn't exactly the most crime-fitting punishment. Putting the rapist's cock in a waffle iron works just as well, and you can distort their screams into more animal sounds for much cheaper with the wonders of moder technology. It's also more humane, since wafflecocks have a higher survival rate than people who get baked alive. If people have to live with mangled and deformed cocks, not only will being even mildly sexually aroused become a painful punishment, but it'll also not be death, and therefore anyone wrongfully convicted can still be alive to complain about the terrible state their dick is in.

There doesn't seem to be a flat-out right or wrong to the whole Gard situation. The parents are 'right' / 'good' for trying to save the kid (assuming that the $1.5m they raised are going to pay for the treatment) since that's their job. On the other hand, the court is 'right' / 'good' for considering the child's wellbeing. Seeing that the wellbeing of Charle would likely stagnate/worsen if they tried to go through with treatment, and improvement is slim, shouldn't it also be in the parents'  best interests to end the kid's suffering? On the basis that the answer to that is yes, then I would say the court is ultimately in the right. Weighing up how much the child's wellbeing would be affected should be how the government gauges the need to intervene, so there is where the line should be drawn.

Child porn = "any visual depiction, including any photograph, film, video, picture, or computer or computer-generated image or picture" that "is, or appears to be, of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct". 

By that definition, the kid shouldn't be slammed. IMO if someone's ordering sex dolls that are modeled after children they should be locked up. This is simply because the question of 'why should a computer-generated image of a minor engaging in whatever be child porn and not a blow-up doll of a child to be used for whatever?' comes up. I can't see a reason why to exclude sex dolls. When it comes to cartoons/hentai I have no idea. Obviously, child sex/rape for artistic purposes (for example, Game of Thrones) is excluded from the this labelling. Dunno if that applies to drawn porn.

This issue with the Charlie Gard case is the same with any rights issue. What's relevant is how it gets used as a precedent in future cases, and that's when you have the whole slippery slope thing come in as time goes on.

Depictions of children that aren't real (virtual, art, cartoons) could be protected under the 1st Amendment since, again, it isn't a real child engaging in the act. Also, whether or not someone looks like a minor depends on your subjective view. There are plenty of pornstars that are over 18 yet could pass as much younger than they really are. Should we ban them because they "look" like a minor?
