Hi. I want to say something now that I've come back to this site after abandoning it for a long time.

When I was a teeny little fifth grader, I was looking for some Warriors fanfiction and found some on this website. Eager to find more, I pleaded my mom to let me make an account until she let me. I was OVER THE TOP ECSTATIC to write stories, as this was my first time sharing anything on the internet.

To my shock, when I published my first storygame—a very low quality (I was in fifth grade) story about a wolf pack—I was repeatedly crushed with hate comments that bashed my writing skills and called me a troll. I was confused and hurt, because I assumed writing communities were supposed to be supportive and encouraging, especially since I was so young and new to the internet.

I started a roleplay called Warriors of a SkyClan. Simple, harmless, just a little kid trying to regain her confidence after being struck down. The immediate response was multiple users, much older than me, attacking my innocent little mind. This was where I first discovered the meaning of the word "slut" after an adult user called my roleplaying character that twice then proceeded to rub it in my face.

It was miserable. Posting anything always meant a wave of criticism and hate. I understand that the world isn't full of love and happiness. I've experienced a lot of bad things in just the past year. But when you're a little kid, and you are being cyberbullied by adults on the internet when you always looked up to adults as role models, it kind of sucks. It kind of sucks a lot.

I don't know if CYS's rules are different now than what they were when I first joined. I haven't been active in about three years. I also don't know if I'm going to get banned for speaking out against the website. I could honestly care less because I just want to put it out there.

This may not be the most kid-friendly community. But creative, hopefully little kids are going to stumble onto this site and think, "Hey, maybe it would be fun to write on the internet!" And adults and teenagers need to learn how to be mature and not be assholes about it.
