I wrote this poem and want to see what people think! Please give me suggestions on things I can improve and things you don't like about the poem. I know it's kind of sad but I was depressed when I wrote this.

I have this fear that I will never be free.
I have these nightmares that haunts my dreams.
They break me and hate me, tear me apart.
They make me feel like I'm not smart.
I tell myself I'll be alright but the truth is I'm dying inside.
I have this fear that finds a way into my mind and under my skin.
When will these nightmares come to an end?
I can't tell others how I feel, it might hurt them, or tear them, or break them within.
I can't seem to get to win.
I can't fight the nightmares I have
They have demons and monsters that break my mind
The demons tell me that I'm not enough.
The monsters ask me when will I give up.
The darkness wants to swallow me whole.
It never wants to let go.
The only escape os when I'm asleep 'cause the nightmares I have are not real dreams.
People tell me that dreams come true but they forgot to tell me nightmares are a kind of dream to.

It doesn't rhyme

I plan to add music to it so it's going to be a song but yes I know it doesn't rhyme very well.

In the 90s and early 2000s, many people did think the data they were angry at lived inside the monitor.

It does say "The only escape os" after all.

That typo ruined the poem for me and I actually can't stand you right now. I'm going to actively seek to cancel you.

Seriously, Ford is totally crazy when it comes to typos.  He's merciless.  Ford, this seems like an innocent one.  You can let it go.

I like it, but I have to agree with enterpride: it doesn't rhyme.

Maybe meter is too advanced to worry about right now, but you can improve the flow of things like this a lot just by getting your syllable counts consistent.

I recommend reading a lot of great poetry.  Just work your way through the Norton Anthology.  That will teach you more than anything anyone could tell you here.
