They are (sometimes highly erroneous) titles given to people based on exp. I wish that you could switch between titles and that different titles would become available as you increase your exp, post count, and storygame count.

Eventually unlocking the ability to enter your own title would be fun, too.

"jamescoker1226, Crusher of the dreams of orphans"

I could come up with some for several people:

"TacocaT, that one kid whose username only made sense for the first three days she was here"

"nmelssx, the guy whose profile pic is always some obscure manga reference"

"Morgan_R, kindhearted, owl-loving dominatrix nice lady"

Profile Titles

...and here I was going to go with 'Morgan_R, Not Actually an Owl.'  XD

Profile Titles

I like mine better, no offense. Of course, if we let other people come up with the titles for us, mine would probably be pretty nasty.

Profile Titles

James, The Apologizing Fox. ;O

Profile Titles

There you go with the blowjob face again.

:O

Morgan_R, The Bisexual Owl. ^_^ Heh.

Profile Titles

The term 'bisexual' reinforces the notion of the gender binary, and I would certainly never apply it to myself. 9_9

XD

I believe "pansexual" is the word you are looking for.

TACOCAT! :D

'Tacocat, the kid with a taco cat. A very rare breed indeed.'

Profile Titles

I'm going to eat you Taco.

Profile Titles

You gotta find me first. :)

Profile Titles

Oh. I got one for you, Taco The Cat Who's Actually A Taco.

Profile Titles

I probably shouldn't have took that as an innuendo....

Profile Titles

Considering Taco is 12? >_>'

Profile Titles

Yeah....xD

Profile Titles

... Yeah.

Profile Titles

I'm not 12! I'm 13 now. Official teenager-hood. :D

Profile Titles

That doesn't make it okay at all.

Profile Titles

? Doesn't make what okay?

Profile Titles

Haha. Ask Kiel.

Profile Titles

MadBrad believed that nmelssx's "I'm going to eat you" comment was an innuendo. Kiel said that it was odd for Brad to think that, given your young age...or something like that.

Profile Titles

Given the context, I don't think 'innuendo' is something I want in my search history. I'm not sure I want to know either.

Profile Titles

"An indirect or subtle, usually derogatory implication in expression; an insinuation."

To be honest, I believe what they meant to say was "double entendre", meaning "A phrase that has two meanings, especially where one is innocent and literal, the other risqué, bawdy, or ironic; an innuendo."

Profile Titles

I guess that isn't that bad.

Profile Titles

Basically, nmelssx said something that, while apparently innocent in nature, could be taken to mean something highly sexual in nature.

Profile Titles

And I can imagine what he took it as.

Profile Titles

Which is why I resisted the urge to elaborate on the issue any more than I needed. :)

Ford, The Frood - meh, kinda nice ring to it, but not perfect :s it doesn't roll off the tongue like "The Novelist"

Profile Titles

Ford, the fraud is more like it. xD

Profile Titles

Hmm, would be nice. I reserve:

"Romulus, of the house of Rome, First of his name, King of CYS, King of the writers, the posters and the admins, Lord of the storygames, Protector of the forums, Khal of the comments section, Breaker of trolls, Father of wolves..."

xD #GoT?

Profile Titles

Good god, that's a bit of a stretch...

Profile Titles

... also known as Mars-born, the unburnt, the writer across the sea, the Grey Wolf, or just Rom for friends.

Profile Titles

"...Actually, just call me Rom." lol

Fantastic idea!

If you get to Journeyman Scrivener (2000 points) and upwards, you can choose your own profile title. That way points now have a use, and titles have a possibility of being changed - a unique title means you have contributed to the site immensely (hopefully, by the time you get to 2000 points)

Profile Titles

I think the trophies already cover this.

Profile Titles

Custom titles are more fun than generic trophies. ^_^

Profile Titles

Their specially made trophies to recognize what a specific person has done for the site. There are even comments if you hold your cursor over the trophy for you to read.

Besides, the title thing could become a problem.

Profile Titles

TO CLARIFY:

This thread does not support the idea of customizable titles, but rather different titles corresponding to your contribution to and role on the site. Like, you wouldn't get a title called "Scrivener" or anything, unless you've actually written a few stories. There would be titles for people with a certain number of games, featured games, articles, or forum posts.

Profile Titles

I like that idea - because I'm in no way a novelist xD

Profile Titles

So what you actually want is a more visible version of a trophy?

Profile Titles

Not really, but what we have right now is essentially that. We earn titles based on our points, but we also earn trophies based on our points. The system I propose would at least acknowledge our writers, readers, forum commentors, and people who contribute in other ways as having distinct roles in the community, as opposed to labeling everyone as a writer.
