This feature was rejected 11/14/2005: "reset game" offers the ability to end the game w/o leaving a comment. Only leave a "end game and leave comments" link when you are ready for them to rate your game. More on polls in the last post.

ok, follow me on this. as it stands now, whenever someone hits an End Link, ANY END LINK, they can then rate your game and leave comments.

im asking for the ability as an author to have specific End Links to have exclusive rating capabilities. for instance,

Page 1

Joe is in a fight. what does he do?

link 1-punch

link 2-kick

link 3-run

link 1 page

joe dies. (this game is over in 1 click).

link 2

joe survives and is given many more links to click

link 3

joe is caught and is put in hospital. he survives and is given more links to play with.

when people click on link 1 and die they can still rate your game. i think we, as authors, should have the ability to pick which End Links give the ability to rate.

Maybe not quite like that, how bout we can weight it down, so If you click on this one the rating is 1/8 as important as if they click on this one, etc.. I agree.  Nice suggestion Nate.

i like your concept as well. however, in terms of doing the programming and stuff it might be harder to do the mathematical equations for your idea. mine was more a quick fix.(an option during the editing phase of the game making process). although, if alex could take the time to work yours out id be willing to support it.

Think of the END GAME link as more of a "WIN GAME" link. I see in your games you used it more like a "GAME OVER" link, so i undersatnd why you'd want this.

What I would suggest is not putting any links on the page, or just linking to a YOU DIED page. Those who don't "WIN" the game really don't deserve to comment in my opinion.

Alex, thats what he's trying to say, we just like being able to end the game without the person winning.

WE WANT POLLS, WE WANT VOTES, WE WILL STOP AT NOTHING.

You define what the end game is.

IF you have a page that is titled "GAME OVER" and has the text "Game over. You may close this window your restart the game b clicking the RESTART GAME link below."

No polls.

Split.  Its far more ten that, but good wording.

1. It's your game so you get the choice as to what you'd like to do.  YOu have 2.  You can use the link "end game leave comments" at ANY POINT or "Reset GAme" at any point if you don't want them to be able to leave a comment.  The choice is up to you.

2. alex has made it pretty clear that polls are out out out!  It would be too time consuming with not nearly enough of a base of people to do it.  He makes a good point that if we had a poll, seriously we'd have like 5 people respond to it.  If you want to take a poll, just post a topic on the forum.

ok, what if instead you made it where the Author could look and see how many links were clicked for that particular player?

for example

Mr Bubba plays my game and leaves and comment like so "It sucked, it was too short."

Next to his name there could be a link that showed me that he only clicked on 2 links before he got to a "End Game" link.

what im looking for here is a way to determine how much of the game was played before they left their comments. as for your suggestion... for me i have written some of my games months and possibly years ago. i want them to stay the way they are.
