This feature was rejected 3/5/2013: I think the community is against this one

Even triple-J liked it. I totally agree and don't remember seeing this. No idea whatsoever why one would get points for posting on a site. I wonder what everyone's points would look like if their posts were deleted from their points? I see how posting shows some sort of will to participate, but as I recall from school, often the people who spoke up the most were not necessarily those contributing to anything but forcing people to sit longer in the classroom while they obsequiously blathered at the professor.

Doesn't matter much to me, actually, but thought I'd put it back out there despite rejection long ago.

Well, I have over 2000 posts and 700 points. I like to think all of my posts have some meaning behind them (I don't post on every thread in the site now) but that would still leave me -1300 points if something like this was implemented. Forum Games especially take up a lot of posts, so this being implemented might even lead to the end or severe handicap or that section of the site.

That whole wish was just trololololololo anyway, and it would generate walls of text.

I don't care about points that much, but I'd prefer to not be penalized for expressing my opinions in the forums...

But you get penalized for expressing your opinion on storygames.  (AKA fucking up the player comments on a storygame.)

That's being penalized for fucking up the comments, not expressing your opinion....

Omg, Swift, what had you done!? You've committed crime against Story Game, what do you have to say for yourself now?

1. Pay your fine (999 points) :P

2. Go to Jail.

3. I rather die than go to Jail!

Played too much Skyrim. ;d

Thank god for the freedom of speech, I can be as immature as I want on any site and get away with it (which I've only done to about 7 sites so far.)

So, so against this haha. On so many levels, primarily that we don't want to discourage posting on the forums. The more active they are, the better.

Edit: Looks like you're under the impression that we get points for posting, but we don't :)

Disagree.

Although the points aren't really there for anything right now (besides dueling and it does make that a little more interesting) I don't think this is the way to implement them. There are only so many stories, if you ran out of them you'd be limited to one post a day, and anyone interested in playing or (especially) making forum games would be out of luck if that were to happen.

Alex, this was five months ago. I'm not even sure what was rejected at this point. I cannot even tell by my post what in the hell I was suggesting. I would hazard a guess that it would be that people who just spam post utter nonsense shouldn't be rewarded with points, but god knows.
