Not sure if the has happened to anyone else, but here's a request Can we have some sort of feature implemented where we can't be put down as a co-author for a story if we haven't agreed to it? There have been several times where I'm looking through my stories and I suddenly see me listed as a co-author for a story I haven't even been asked to contribute to, let alone even written anything for. Of course its easy enough to just take yourself off as a co-author, but it's still annoying.
I think Jmgskills raised this before. Can't remember what happened though
EDIT: Here it is: http://chooseyourstory.com/forums/feature-wishing-well/message/7773
It was rejected.
I'm in support of this being implemented. It isn't much effort to remove oneself from co-authoring a story but I can imagine it being a problem if a troll adds you as a co-author to an offensive story and it shows up on your profile.
Heh, I even posted in that old thread. Obviously I forgot though. Oh well, if this got rejected guess nothing can be done. Still would be a good feature though.
Well, it was only rejected because of the FWW clean-out, so I think there's a good chance this will be implemented. I support this suggestion too btw :)
Good idea.
Time to put you down as my co-author!
It would be nice if (just like RPS) you could just accept or decline Co-Authorship - should be easy enough to implement; cutting and pasting that same sort of code =)
I support this too. It would be more proper, at least you get to decide whether or not to accept. In real life, if someone asks you to contribute to something, you get to choose whether to accept or decline too.
I'll certainly be glad if this feature ever gets implemented, for some baffling reason someone added me as a co-author to some sort of mermaid story a few days ago.
XD
Obviously, they need your help making a scene where the mermaid gets captured and put in a Serbian basement to do porn.
Or maybe they just need a good death scene?
Eternal Alpha-Mermaids Zero?
*giggles* That would be a good story to listen too. Never mind reading it, who does that anymore?
Infertile nerrrrrds.
That's enough out of of you, Ackbar. :P
That mafia game really pulled in the strange ones. lol
It sure did, Fireplay, it sure did... :P
It's been happening a lot lately haha!
Maybe one of the mods will implement it when they realize they've been added as the co-author to about 100 troll games while they've been away
Interesting, I didn't realize you got a few points for "co-authoring" a story. I was wondering why my points suddenly got higher at times.
-Brb point farming Endmaster-
You do realise Berka/Madglee/JJJ and any other admin/mod can make you lose those points for farming right?
Nah, only admins can deduct points.
You can't point farm by adding yourself as a co-author to other people's stories, you can only add other people as co-author's to your stories, which means you'd lose points since half of the points you get for publishing a story game goes to the co-author
Woot! First time being unwillingly added as a co-author! :D
And I gave my friend Bucky a helpful set of 4-5 lovely pages, explaining my annoyance.
Oh you have to PM me those pages.
I have absolutely no way to access them anymore.
:'(
If you're ever added as a co-author, without your consent, just delete everything they have ^_^
That'll get them to stop fast.
That's evil, Killa. xD
(...Of course, I was wondering why Endmaster didn't try that the first time I saw him raise this request, lol, but still, evil.)
I don't think you can delete the storygame, as a co-author. But yeah, you could delete all the pages.
Meh, not worth my time to be bothered to mess around with their story which usually are just one sentence (or one word) pages or not even officially published yet. Easier to just take my name off. Usually the people who do it are people that have really liked my stories and want me to help with theirs, so I can't get too frothing mad about it. Just more of a minor annoyance.

I got added to the same story, again. Man, I wish I knew HTML tricks right about now...
Since you have access to the story, post those pages why don't you?
It's pretty much just this:
Page 1: I
page 2: Don't KNOW WHY THE FUCK YOU ADDED ME
page 3: BUT ITS FUCKING ANNOYING
insert spam of pages + screw up the person's variables. :P
^lol I think I would do that after the 3rd time of telling them to stop adding me as co-author.
I don't think I've ever been added to a game I didn't ask to be though.
In *theory*, I've added a co-author alert, such that if you become a co-author, you'll get a notification saying that much.
Do you think this is enuf?
Yeah
