I'm writing a post-apocalypse story. I need a racial slur that sounds both crude and properly discriminatory, aimed at mutants. "Muties" comes to mind, like in Judge Dredd, but not only is that an incredibly lame-sounding abbreviation of the word*, but it sounds almost endearing.

I don't have much experience in the field of creating fantastic racial slurs, so I need your help. Shout something that would be grossly offensive if this weren't planet earth, loud and clear.

*Like "Tranny", which is even more stupid. It just sounds like you weren't in the mood for three syllables. Racial slurs should go out of their way to be assholish, not lazy shit like this. GET BETTER AT DISCRIMINATING, DAMMIT!

Scalies, Slimes, mutts, ocks, durks, fleks, bungs, radants, squibs, mulgs, wolgs.

I mean, mutant itself is already derogatory. Could call then freaks I suppose.

Not necessarily. I mean the entirety of X-Men made sure it can be seen in a positive light.

But most folks will just call them "Taints" for short.

Where elves are stereotypically effeminate, or else not  considered as "Manly" as other races:

Pansy-men, Girly-men, "Knight of Flowers", Dickless, Eunuch-Born, Hairless, Unbeardable, Spritzer (in reference to flowers, perfumes, or scented potions Elves might wear.)

Other:

Tree Bumpkins, Wine-pissers, Scarecrows, Bug-Eaters, Skippers, Maypole-Dancers, Cat-herders, Deer-Fuckers, Lizard-worshippers, Gingerbreadmen, Brass Monkeys, Vegetable-fuckers, Tree Gardeners, Leafblood, Lawn-sodders, (It's funny because there's a double-meaning!) 

Some good ones in here, but I really like spritzers. It can be used as an adjective too! ' Buncha spritzing leafbloods in here...'

Knife eared is one I already use, I just forget where I first saw it, and need to mix it up a little anyway.

Were I triggered, I'd have addressed this shit immediately, but it's been refuted so many times I just don't feel like it's worth it anymore. The point is, Ford is racist scum, in addition to all the other kinds of scum he is. He is a massive, congealed petri dish of one thousand scums, and everything he says depends on what variety of scum is growing the fastest.

What type of mutants? Are they mixed with animals? Have superpowers? Cybernetic? Are they naturally developed or were they created? Any characteristics that they all have in common or are they all different?

I saw the thing you wrote about them as fantasy-ish, but what are their origin?
