Winds of Change is a Political game which lets you play in the post-war USSR and do what you think is correct.
In this game you play as a young citizen of the USSR just after the end of the WW2. You can play as you wish, ending up as general secretary, officer of KGB or leading an open rebellion against the party and the soviet system. Winds of Change are coming from the east
Welcome Comrade
The sun rises upon our great soviet motherland. The year is 1945 and the war with Japan is over. Comrade the USSR has managed to defeat the fascist foes who attacked from east and west and now we are considered to be one of the major powers in the world together with USA, G.Britain and other capitalist powers.
The main power within the soviet society is the CPSU, the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. The Soviets also have some powers but generally what the party says goes.
Despite the CP is the leading power in the Soviet Society and despite the prohibition of factions within the party, three major political “factions” exist in the Soviet System :
-
The Hard Liners: Under the Leadership of J. Stalin , general secretary of the CPSU this faction is the leading one within the party and the country. The hard liners are supporters of Marxism-Leninism, state’s control over the main productive powers of the society, they are also in favor of a conflict against the capitalist powers, of encouraging socialist revolutions all around the globe and in favor of fighting with all means the capitalists within the USSR or even people generally against their Socialist policies.
-
The Reformists: Reformists also enjoy some power in the Soviet Union. They are in favor of Marxism and of Soviet System, however they favor small private business, they want to co-exist peacefully with the capitalist powers. They are completely against any kind of political persecution. They would support any socialist revolution provided it is moderate.
-
The Nationalists: Nationalist are a small force within the Soviet Union (Yet their faction includes important personalities of the Society) and that’s because they are hunted as enemies of the people and of the socialist state. They favor free market, free multi-party elections, state support to the orthodox church and the destruction of the soviet system. They enjoy the support of the capitalist powers, yet they also “enjoy” the hunt by the KGB
And you comrade?
Which side are you on?
