Judging by your username you probably listen to metal music, in which case I have no clue what amp you'd be looking for.
I'm familiar with the Marshall MG30FX, but I haven't heard of the one you're interested in. Tried looking it up on Youtube and in my opinion it definitely sounds better. Take that with a grain of salt though, it's all up to personal taste and what type of music you're going to play through it (eg. I've got a Vox AC15 and for the music I play I think it's the best amp available, but for heavier styles it might not stack up with other amps).
Edit: In regards to getting it second hand - if you're confident the amp's still in good nick then go for it. My amp was second hand from a guy I used to go to high school with and it saved me a couple of hundred dollars.
