Hi. I found this site a long time ago and I am now finally diving into the community. I love pick-your-path type stories and I am planning one right now. Does anyone have any stories they would want to recommend to me?

Welcome!

Kiel Farren's stories are great. I haven't read all of them (Not as in, "I've read a few whole stories he's written", more like, "I've read a brief fraction of each story before realizing I was supposed to be productive and quitting") and from what I've seen it's a very big and intriguing puzzle-horror in a very big and intriguing world.

I also recommend "The Other World, also a Kiel_Farren storygame, which takes place in the AU of "A Game of Life and Death."

As a heads-up, T.O.W. has more violence in it. Not that GOLAD didn't have its share of blood, but its AU sequel is set in a much darker world. Post apocalyptic fantasy, if you will. Since it was my second game, I think the writing and scripting are better--though I'm still learning.

Wow, I'm just falling in love with the story game "Homo Perfectus." It's my fave at the moment.

A belated welcome to CYS~

Since my games have been recommended to you, I hope you enjoy them. If you like word puzzles / riddles / brain-teasers, then I suggest checking out Tower of Riddles by Briar_Rose--alternatively, her "Price of Freedom: Innocence Lost" game allows you to take on the role of a gladiator in training and won a writing contest a while back. Endmaster is one of our most popular writers, and dabbles a few different genres, but he excels at fantasy. Two of his most popular are Eternal and Necromancer--but do be warned that his games have some disturbing themes ...

Honestly, though, you can't really go wrong with any of the featured games / highest rated. They're the ones that, when you click Storygames, show up underneath the category names and are recognized as some of the best this site has to offer. The highest rated list is randomized, though, (due to there being a lot of really great games that can't all fit at the same time...!) so if you think you've read them all, try re-freshing a couple times. Enjoy. ^^

Also, if you have any questions about the site, the Help and Info section is great, the forums are usually active enough that you'll have someone to answer you at just about any given time, and if you get stuck on anything, you can feel free to drop me a line via PM.

Welcome to the site. And if you like shorter stories, I suggest all the stories I have written. At least *I* like them!

:P As do I. You've written several solid pieces of work, as I was saying to another member not too long ago...

Sethaniel's Snow is a must-read, IMHO. Front page, top-left box. Short & beautifully bittersweet. <3
