Hello! 

I am new to this website, and am already writing a storygame. Now, I've hear of people getting banned and losing all their things, points, drafts, etc. 

I want to avoid that.(obviously)

Could anyone give me a run through of what it is like here?

We have several other penguins at this point, and a couple of them are quite powerful. Just stick with your own kind and I'm sure you'll be fine.

Just don't write an outright porn/fetish story or warrior cats and you should be fine on the writing front. Even if your story sucks and gets taken down, you're not likely to get banned for it.

Acting like an idiot on the forums however is another matter. You'd have to read through The Lounge threads to determine how you should proceed.

If you aren't sure how to proceed, then the safest course of action is to not post on the forums unless it involves writing related topics.

Yeah, if people seem to be responding negatively to your posts, just stop posting for awhile even if autism and/or being 12 prevents you from figuring out why.

There seems to be this snowball effect of these people just deciding to post even more or argue with the folks (me) who are telling them to settle down to try and save them. So much senseless noob death.

The ones more likely to get banned generally haven't done anything of value with their accounts either so it makes them pretty disposable. Spending some time rating and commenting on games will do a lot to protect you from occasional dumb behavior.

Don't wander into dark alleyways. If you annoy someone, hide. If you get banned, don't make another account until at least a week later, and then don't post. Just join The Guild. If anyone offers you a spork, take it, don't ask questions. Don't even mention it. And, as always, LURK MORE. You'll do fine.

Yeah, essentially, when somebody gets banned right off the bat, it's for being incredibly annoying. You should be fine if you;

1. Don't start a bunch of random forum threads about pointless topics that make no sense.

2. Don't start heated arguments with people because they disagreed with something you said.

3. Don't take yourself or anyone else on the site too seriously.

You should be fine. ^_^

Are you sure you want to avoid that? Or is that your actual end-goal?
