Category Question

I find some of the categories are, perhaps, a little too specific.  For example, Fantasy Adventure.  What if I'm writing a fantasy story that isn't an adventure.  Or what if I have a story that isn't quite horror or fantasy, but a blend of the two?  I guess I'm just worried that I will misrepresent my stories by picking a 'wrong' category.

Yeah, lots of people have the problem of having a game that could fit into two categories. I think in that situation you need to pick which category is the most relevant, for instance a Horror game set in a Modern Adventure world would probably still be Horror, whereas a Love/Dating game set in a Fantasy world would probably be Fantasy. It all depends on the writer and what category they think is most relevant to their game.

I guess, I could just pick the closest category, and if people think a game should be in a different category, then they can tell me as much when/if they comment, or over PMs.  Because, it seems to me, that throwing something into the 'Everything Else' category seems a bit like taking the easy way out. :)

Well some things like Quizzes are supposed to go in the Everything Else category but generally most games have a category they could fit into.

That is a problem that was adressed a while back, and Alexp (the admin/creator of the site) said that with the new site layout, he will implement tags instead of categories as a main way to define story games, so you could have a fantasy modern adventure or a simple fantasy story without adventure.

well there is the category everything else like if your story dose not fit in with the other category than you can put it there

Ah.  I've seen some games with tags, and it looks like clicking on them should do something, but it doesn't.  I guess because that sort of thing hasn't been fully implemented yet. :)

Also, I hope the tags improve in the future.  I don't seem to be able to add my own kind of tags, and the current existing ones seem, like the categories, a bit limited.
