Wow. I assume that Hollywood is rushing to make this into a movie. It does sound like the ultimate feel good movie plot.

The Austro-Hungarian Empire still existed when they last won a World Series.

Teddy Roosevelt was there to piledrive a moose through the stadium last time they won.

Hell, England beat Australia in the World Series of European Stickball last time they won!

It was still illegal for a woman to smoke in public!

Kings and Queens were still important enough to be assassinated!

Damn the Cubs. I hope they will break records for utterly sucking next year. (I'm a Cards fan, so my breed naturally despised the team.) Also, congratulations to the Indians for almost beating the Cubs.
