After more than a decade, Netflix has finally figured out that if you give people the option to leave the reviews, they won't just be handing out compliments. Instead, they'll say that shitty shows are, well, shitty. And if other people read those reviews, they might just learn that those shows are shitty and wouldn't watch them. Since making better quality stuff is too much effort, they just deleted every fucking review.

Yeah Netflix doesn't like people trashing their original programming, might as well just horse fuck the entire system. Lol.

Nobody probably said as much this time since Netflix already "streamlined" the rating system before with the thumbs up/thumbs down thing, which got more backlash. Now? People are more used to a tyrant being a tyrant so its just a shrug and move on for the most part.

I'm wondering where the big one stop "movie forum" is now. Since IMDB shut their warzone forums down a long time ago and those were hilarious most of the time. (Rotten Tomato's forums are boring)

In any case, I liked Disenchantment.

Clicked on the thread cause I was like "holy shit that title - and by mayana?! netflix must've really pissed her off!" but now I know it's by mizal so it makes sense.

Also why would netflix care about people watching a show that's shitty or not? Not like they get ad revenue through more people watching more stuff. If a show is shitty people will do the sensible thing and just stop watching watch all the way through a series because they already started.

I didn't even know netflix had reviews. Thought they just had a shitty "match for you: 70-98%" system and any series I watch is usually recommended by several people prior to me considering watching it (eg Black Mirror, House of Cards, Le Casa de Papel, Narcos, etc). What were reviews even useful for? Wouldn't a reasonable person just watch a single episode and if it's shitty just stop? Or look up a show and find a billion reviews of it on google?

Actually the original thing was still posted by Mayana in Discord, Mizal just suggested she post it in the forums.

I posted that link in the Discord and later here because yeah, it did piss me off. Why the fuck can they delete millions of reviews without anyone giving a shit? I asked for a good title for the thread on Discord, and Mizal suggested one. If she didn't, I'd have still posted the thread, it'd just be named "Netflix deletes all user reviews" because I have no imagination. :)
