Thanks for the response!
I have read both of those Fantasy stories. Dungeon Stompage is a really cool game but I think Innkeeper is a better reflection of the Fantasy category, personally. Dungeon Stompage is really fun interactive fiction, but it's overwhelmingly gamey and its lack of an involved, well-thought-out plot pretty much disqualifies it from featuring in our strongest category (Fantasy).
I haven't read Avery M, I will read that soon.
I have read both Desparate Heart and The Ocean's Daughter. Unlike the Dungeon Stompage case (Dungeon Stompage is a feature-worthy game sitting in a category with stronger games), I don't believe that The Ocean's Daughter is strong enough to be featured, even if there was an open spot. I felt that The Ocean's Daughter felt forced and contrived and I felt that the author's young age really showed in the writing. It's not that it's a poor storygame (and I think that Fergie did an excellent job, considering her age when she wrote it) but I didn't feel that it was an immersive experience. The dialogue was really off-putting. Also, it draws very heavily on Sethaniel's Snow. Again, it's not that the storygame was bad, it would never, ever be considered for unpublishing or not meeting minimum site standards, but I don't think that it's good enough for featuring, personally.
I haven't read A Dog's Life, I will read that soon.
Thank you!
