Am I unmotivated? Yep. Do I procrastinate often? Yep.

Just scream at me to do some fucking work for once. Suggestions are appreciated for storygames.

... Damn it guys. I'm sick of seeing all these so-called "motivational threads" in the WW. You guys have certainly oversaturated them. The point of a motivational thread isn't to spew caps-locked "shouts" in hopes of that somehow motivating the author -_- It's expected that you already have a story and a plan, and you are willing to update on said story as you progress as well as seeking playtesters and other help the community has to offer. That and, if you're going to be posting here in this forum, at least make sure it actually pertains to your writing project, much less actual writing.

When you get down to it, this is a shitpost and spam, and has nothing to do with writing. (no surprise.)

I mean, I know Malk did one of these, but at least he had several projects and was willing to discuss them, plus the shouting part was pretty much a joke; you guys are taking it too seriously. That's different from spamming Derp so that he can get some "fucking work done".

(inb4 argument over what you should be doing in a motivational thread -_-)

Ehh. At least they pertain to writing. I'm alright with them existing.

Hey @DerpBacon what is the timeline of your project looking like? When do you expect to be finished, if you work hard?

Well, my focus at the moment is on Cabin 49. If I set up a schedule of writing/working 2 hours a day, 3 days a week (3 days because of school) and stick to it, I should be able to proofread it one final time and publish it around a month in a half, two months from here.

Alright. How do you feel about a 25 point wager? If you get it done by November 12th (and it gets a rating of 6 or better), I'll give you 35 points. Otherwise, I'll remove 25. Thoughts?

You can consider that to be me shouting at you.

You know, that'd actually be a really cool system to implement.

Let users "bet" against the CYS mascot (or to make things easier, the admins) that they'll get their story done by X date, and it will have a Y rating (likely 6) or higher.

Certainly an interesting way to motivate people. All you'd need to do is make some sort of betting thread and check it once a month.

I would definitely participate.

I'd participate. My left testicle isn't as important as points xD

I might get something done if points were on the line :P

Would there be a limit on the date? I mean, would I be able to bet 50 points that I'd finish my story within 10 years? XD That seems to be about the time I'd finish with the pace I'm setting.

Sounds great. Like the others stated, that should be a system used by any writer on the site should they feel unmotivated.

The best motivation threads Ive seen were briar and kiel. Both of them set goals for themselves and kept the "audience" informed of their progress.

Guys, the shouting thing was a joke. You know that, right?

Originally, but people are taking it too seriously and doing it too frequently so that these threads pretty much remain shouting matches and there's little writing spoken about; see other "shout threads" for proof -- it's not about shouting, it's about writing. This point to this thread seems only to spam Derpino.
