Goddamit!? Why are all the apocalypse names taken?
I need help finding an apocalypse name for my story. But all of them are taken. It'd be great if you could help me find one.
Hmm. "Arming Doomsday"?
Well, it's placed two years after the apocalypse, so I don't think it'd be fitting for a name like that.
My advice is to think of a negative noun and an adjective, and stick them together. It helps sometimes, but not for everyone. I use it as a sort of base or starter.
Give me details. Is there an oppressive, military-style government holding on to pockets of civilization? Is it a Mad Max-ian hellhole filled with dudes wearing leather fetish gear? Are there aliens? Zombies?
Wasteland factions fighting for superiority of the wastes, but in reality are all dicks in their own way and hate each other. Alien-like mutants are constantly attacking and test subjects run lose and wreak havoc.
So just take it as a fallout-type setting mixed with a shitty atmosphere.
This is a title you need, right? I'm bad at those, but it usually works to go for something abstract and pretentious.
That way, if someone doesn't 'get' your title it's just because they're not thinking about it deeply enough.
Alright, that'll work.
The last one looks promising.
No Sleep Till Doomsday
Mason, never mind, go with this.
Fun fact: That was going to be the original name of Ground Zero.
That's pretty fucking metal
;_; Thank you.
Fuck, that is good.
Fuckin' nerd.
The Srirachaning.
Last man on earth!
Steal one. Doesn't matter what you come up with, it's been used before, so you might as well just say 'fuck it' and use a common one anyway.
Surprisingly, stealing the title is both wrong as you shouldn't steal people's work even if it's just a title, and retarded, because a title is used to distinguish.
Wait, title?
*reads thread*
Oh. I thought he just wanted a name for an apocalypse. In that case, come up with a title that hasn't been used, but steal an apocalypse name. No one gives a damn if you use The Great War or The Collapse or The Catalyst or whatever else for the seven millionth time.
Right, just the title. But yeah, I'm not really going to dig into much copyright (during the story), but it may reference to Fallout or other franchises.
