Sadness Comp motivation thread?

Are we supposed to have these? I can't remember if it was a requirement or not.

Oh well, here it is:

Wait, actually I'm not going to talk about the story at all. I don't like giving away plots, the fact that the story will be sad is already kind of a spoiler. I will say however I feel like traditional 'girlfriend dead. sad now :(' plots and various other tragic backstories aren't that interesting to write, so I'll be trying for something a little less generic and obvious.

Anyway I'm not super invested in this at the moment but will crank out something quick which may or may not (probably not) be replaced by something more involved later.

You’re writing about someone who never had Hamburger Helper as a child.

We had a dog named Helper. We also had Hamburger Helper once - soon to be dubbed, Hamburger for Helper.

Here's a sad story idea:

Kids buys fish.

Kid befriends fish.

Fish....dies.

Kid goes to flush fish down drain.

In a twist the fish is actually alive, jumping up and drowning the kid in the toilet.

The End.
