You're Caelani, a member of the Thieves' Guild coming back from a job when an unexpected incident and an innocent desire to help catapults you into danger.
My entry for Bucky's Year's End contest.
This is my first story in a realistic fantasy setting. That seems to be the most popular here so I'll write more like this if the feedback is good.
Springberry Morning

In the enchanted valley of Bellflower, the youngest fairydragons gather to pick berries for the annual Springberry celebration.
Written for Mizal's Tiny 'Topia jam. I lost all my progress on a longer game and wanted something small to write that would make me happy. It was hard writing a game under 2000 words, but I learned a lot about scripting that I'm excited to use in other projects.
Big thanks to BerkaZerka and Mizal for help with the scripting! Please rate and leave a comment, and if you find a bug in the game please tell me, I tested it as much as I could but something might have slipped by.

I haven't done anything with item states, but in the page script just use the sample text from the article Gryphon linked and then change it and the variable to match yours.

$PAGETEXT is a system variable. They explain the difference in the Intermediate Scripting article.

It would've been exactly on time, but I accidentally deleted something while trying to copy it over. 🫠
Mine is still going to need a lot of work before I can publish it, but I'm happy with getting so much done in just the few hours I ended up having after work and everything else.
Thank you for hosting this, it was fun and actually got me writing again!
