Player Comments on College Romance

I noticed many grammatical errors in your book, and some dialogues which you added in weren't exactly necessary. I noticed that whenever you turned down a guy, there would be a brief paragraph about April cribbing about Eric dumping her, and that basically is the end of the game. I would change that if I were you, since that makes the game short and uninteresting as we would want another candidate to date. Like, when April was crying underneath the tree, another man could have comforted her, and then they could have fallen in love and you would have another ending. You see?

This game was somewhat amusing to me, and I liked it. Just work on your grammar, add more intricate details, and the plot wasn't really that strong nor did you develop your characters that much, so I would work on that if I were you.

I see that you put some effort in this, so well done. This certainly isn't the worst nor the best, but if you put more time and sweat into this game, it can certainly be better.

While there are lots of choices, there end up only being three endings. I find it...mildly unrealistic that there are only three guys, and the moment the player meets the guy you can only choose to either stick with them forever or ditch them and cry. There should be more options that affect whether or not you end up with the guy.

This was pretty short, but kinda cute. I would make this game a little less dramatic - I disliked the ending with Marc particularly. In fact, in real life, Marc is exactly the kind of guy I'd date. So maybe you should include a personality choice that will affect the outcome of dating each of the guys. Apart from that (and the spelling errors) this is very cute! Keep on writing

No, sorry but no. First of all, the "trophy wife" ending was ridiculously sexist. I like to think that I'm smart for my age and the fact that he's "smarter than me" and my character "prefers jocks" felt really insulting. You'd need to fix this quite a bit to make it fun and appealing to more audiences.

Okay. I took the story twice (took me one minute, it's that short) and now I'm mad. I got a bad ending - I'm fine with that -but what tipped me off was how you wrote "you became less beautiful" and Doug became ugly. Why is a sign of failure ugliness? I remember, the first time I got it, I got a nice enough ending (well, I actually got a terrible one as a trophy wife, but I think you know what I am) it said I was "beautiful". So, are you suggesting that if I'm ugly, I'm not successful? And if I'm beautiful, that's a sign of success? Plus, I hate how the story is just about finding a guy - is there one ending where you end up alone but are still happy? Is the message that if you don't find a guy in college, there's no point to college? Disappointed.

I was actually a bit annoyed by this story. I hate the sexism in it - how I become a "trophy wife" and marry a guy "who's smarter than me" because I don't want to become trophy wife, I want to become as video game designer or a teacher, and most of all an author. I hated when you said "you don't understand half of what he's saying" because I probably would have understood it. I disliked the underlining message that a pretty girl - or any girl - cannot be as smart as a guy. It was also quite short. I'll take it again to see if there are any less sexist endings.

Wow, this moved extremely too fast. I went to lunch and the next thing I know I'm married with three kids? I might not be an expert, but I think this skipped a few steps.

This is one of the worst things I have ever read. Give up on all of your dreams. This was bullshit.

Losing your best friend, getting pregnant and becoming trailer trash, and drowning in the toilet. All within 3 clicks.

This is one of the better romance games on here.

There is very little character or story development. Also, I didn't really feel like my choices influenced the outcome of the game enough. I met my friend's brother, we talked and hit it off, he asked me out and I said yes... they whole process took about 2 minutes. I believe with a little more effort there could be something here, but as it is this story is incredibly boring.

The best part about CYOA games is that the reader can develop the character to fit their own personalities if they choose. You made it impossible to do that by stating that the main girl is a skinny blond who likes jocks.

Mmmmm, it felt limited. The writing was okay, but I was a bit put off at how you could instantly proceed through dating and marriage with a simple Yes to go on one date, buy lunch, etc. Character development happened a bit too fast for me, but that may be a matter of taste.
