Player Comments on The Story of the Bible
I thought this was a great game. It was very interesting and tells a story that's pretty relevant today even for non-Christians as it tells us the mindset of people back then and tells us about a massive religious influence today. There were a few Biblical mistakes, like the Serpant not actually being Satan but being an actual Serpant in the original story and "40 Days and Nights" being a phrase that meant a long time rather than an actual period of time. Other than that I thought it was pretty interesting.

Very good!
I thought Barrabas was a murderer though, not a thief?

Spoilers below.
I just wish it had branching. It had so much potential, and the perfect setup for an alternate history of the bible, but ended up just being a quiz instead. I guess that was the purpose, but it didn't even do what a quiz is supposed to and tell me my score, instead just giving me answers.
All the "alternate choices" end in a sentence or two. Even if there aren't any alternate paths, at least write a few paragraphs elaborating on society's collapse after Adam enslaves Eve.
On top of everything else, there were retry links. I could accept this if it worked like a quiz and told me my score at the end, but it didn't even do that.
I did learn some facts about the Bible, which was good, though.
Just for making me click through boring question after boring question, I'm giving this a 3/8, and that's quite generous.

It wasn't really a story game now was it? You could have written more for the different choices. You also could have straight up made it a quiz. You also could have given an end-game link when you want to change it instead of a retry. Did you do any of this? No. Did it affect my rating of this story? Yes.

The only reason I'm rating this a 3/8 is that I never read the bible so I gleaned some information about it from this game... I guess. Not sure how reliable the narrator is about the bible. For all I know it could all be just some fanfiction bs, considering it IS in that category.
Either way, this story does not have any choices. Any that aren't "canon", I guess, immediately send you to a page telling you you fucked up and that you should retry. Why aren't there end-game links? I personally happen to like the ending where Adam enslaves Eve and makes her work the fields, I'd love to have ended my adventure then and there. And at first, at least there was a sentence or two detailing the choice I made and detailing something about the consequences. Eventually, you even stopped doing that so it was just dull picking and going back to choose the "right" option. If the alternative choices were a bit longer, and consistent, I'd probably have rated this a lot higher.

I thought this was going to be easy. And it was, until I got to the New Testament. It all went downhill from there. (I'm a Jew so I've never read the New Testament.) Also, I never heard of releasing a prisoner on Passover. I'm going to start breaking someone out of jail every Passover! But really though, it was a well put together journey through the Bible and is a great way to test your memory on some of the most popular points in the Bible.

Thank you for making this game. It is brilliant. My only complaint is that the questions are quite easy if you have read through the bible before.

This was just bad. There were no choices at all! Even if you click a wrong choice, it doesn't even tell you why it is wrong. This is in no way a creative retelling of the bible. It's just stories from the bible with one correct option on the bottom of the page.
I'm atheist, but I do know basics of the bible from my cousins and some friends and what not. And I do not see any variations. I'm guessing the only reason this is rated a 4/8 is because other religious people appreciate seeing this on a non religeon-based website. This belongs in the everything else section since it is a quiz. This isn't a fan-fiction because all it is is a watered down version of the stories. 2/8.

The story was an accurate retelling of the Bible. I didn't see any grammatical or punctuation errors, most of the verses as I saw, came directly from the Bible. It was nothing more than a retelling and it would be interesting if they made this story more of a game by really letting you decide the choice to make if you were in the characters shoes. I gave this a 5/8, it needs some improvement for this to be called a story-GAME.

It was rather boring and long winded but ironically at the beginning I feel you could of made it more detailed, it almost seemed lazy. The grammar was bad and very simple. In the beginning it would of helped if you included actually references to the bible. The pictures were good but some of them didn't actually work.
All the other choices were very lazy also, you didn't even put any effort in them. This is certainly not a gamebook and therefore should not be on this site at all.

I do have one critique: Barabbas wasn't just a thief. Yes, he was one, but he was more prominently recognized (specifically by Peter) by the act of murder. The reason for his crime was because he was part of a rebellion to overthrow the government.
It's... ironic, really. They accused Jesus of trying to take over when he didn't care about who was physically leading the world... and released a guy who really -was- a part of an effort to overturn the powers that be.
The fact that it's a minor critique should tell you that, otherwise, I'm... pretty impressed.

Not as much fun as the actual bible. You skipped a lot of the cool parts about stoning people and cutting birds open and whatnot. But it did cover the major points in a fairly short time, and there's something to be said for that.

I actually really liked this game! Very factual and the plethora of stories was good.Great job on that. There was only one thing I had a problem with ,was your Pentecost one. Both answers are correct. Speaking in tongues, especially when in a public place like a church service, They have one person who translates what the other is saying. You had an answer that said Christians speak in tongues and only they can understand it. That is correct,I have been to a few church services where this happened. I see some complaints about the linearity of this, and I think those complaints are moot. The point of this isn't to create a story, but tell what has already been told. Of course it's going to be linear, the author's intent was to see how much you know about the Bible, not create a whole new book. Btw, loved your pictures! They were top notch and I saved most of them to my computer. :P Great job!^_^

Too linear, not informative enough to be an accurate represintation. This seems more like a compilation of random parts than a summary of the book wich it looks like you intended to make.

It was way too linear, and way too long for a story of that quality. I don't exactly read the Bible often, and yet I could skip entire pages and pick the right choice, so you may want to work on that.
Also, try making alternate stories for choices besides the correct one so that you can have more than one ending.

The idea is good though, especially if you create alternative stories for some of the "wrong" choices.
