Player Comments on Final Destination: Cheating Death

The stroyline is very disjointed and the option which led the reader to win before the actual story even started confused me. I feel like the story was too fast-paced and the author should have fleshed out the story with more detail, but with a little more effort, the author could turn this story into a great Goosebumps-like adventure.

There were numerous grammatical errors. At least one every sentence, because you didn't space after a comma or period (which is vital!!) Also, there were quite a few spelling errors and you forgot to start a new paragraph in dialogue. Basic grammar, people! The story was decent, but there was still too much to read, and combo'd with bad grammar and a strange stroyline, it made me just skip through most of the game ot get to an End Game link.

A decent take on a crappy movie. The opening scene was nicely worded. The other comment about the he/she thing is true. Try using paragraphs for the dialogue so it's easier to read. The deaths could be more creative; most of them involve things falling on heads and getting tackled out of the way.

dude like i understan how death wins but i saved everyone you should have it remember who was saved and make it matter and make it long so it keeps going and going until it starts making you choose who to save and eventually you die but it was to quick

I probably enjoyed this a lot more than the average reader. Possibly due to the fact that I actually like the movies and funny death scenes. Perhaps there's something wrong with me, but that's not what this comment should be about. Let's talk about the game:

The admittedly horrible punctuation and grammatical errors didn't really bother me as much, I didn't even notice them. I also found the death scenes funny. My friend's brains going all over me is really something.

A bit of non-deadly humor was also present and reminded me of the way I write my games. "You almost puke", then a few sentences later "that's when you DO puke". Gets a point up for that.

Gets a point DOWN for the stupid he/she stuff. I'm generally against that shit, but if you're going to implement it, at least do it properly, and not the way you did which is quite possibly the worst possible option.

Finally, I liked the fact there were different endings, so branching is present, and the choices MOSTLY make sense, but one that annoyed me was the "go left/right" one. Unless I missed something, that's purely a 50/50 choice. Not exactly what I like to see in games.

Overall, this is probably way too high for what it is, but I give this game a 5/8. Not that the creator cares, seeing as he hasn't logged on in like 3 years.

This is so interesting! I’ve always had a thing for Final Destination, so this game really seems like a good thing for fans of the franchise. There could be better stuff though, but it’s fun either way.

This one is pretty alright. I chose every link that there was. It did seem a bit choppy and felt a bit rushed. I recommend that the creator practice even more. The more you write, the better you become.

Interesting, though the lack of description and development poses several problems. First, it's hard to understand what's going on...the grammatical/spelling errors don't help with that, either. Second, it's hard to care whether or not any of these people live. My girl/boyfriend (that's pretty lazy as well, pick one or let the player pick) got killed, and my sole reaction was "NOOOOOO!" Then off to the next choice! Wait...what?

Also, some of the choices are fairly random. "Do you want to go left or right?" There's no reason to pick one over the other, which is kind of the point in a CYOA game.

I would say add a lot more detail and some character establishment. Give us a reason to choose one path over the other, or to even care what happens. And improve the proofreading; this is a text-based game, so grammar and spelling are important for comprehension.

Okay, what was that? I really like the Final Destination films and was hoping this could be something more. I got in the car with my friends and went to eat something, and the game ended and told me I'd cheated death. I didn't even do anything.

Lots of spelling mistakes. Bad punctuation. I think you should be able to choose the whole story not just 2 or 3 options. Gets a bit boring after a while. Apart from that its good. Not brilliant.

Everyone knows that they are going to die but stoping it from happening early will be great better than the movie where there's no surviver that cheated death amazing job

Hm. This story was not, perhaps, the best written in terms of grammar, spacing, punctuation, that sort of thing... but having just seen the Final Destination first movie, and about half of the second, I liked this game. I didn't really enjoy the movies because, well, gory deaths for the sake of gory deaths in all their nasty glory are not my ideal plot for a movie. However, I -do- enjoy the concept of fate being something to fight -against-, that your future being completely decided for you is a -bad- thing. The fact that you -can't- fight it, while true, is kind of a sucky ending note. The ending of the first film even more so because I found it just so damn anti-climactic. I digress, though, I enjoyed playing this game.

Ultimate cool, felt like I was in one of the Final Destination Movies.

Not proofread enough- more like a first draft. Also no fleshed out background on why these things were happening or much in the way of details other than gore. The gore was good though.

When I first heard about this story, I was very excited. A Final Destination fanfic would work marvelously in this format. However, the total disregard for grammar and spelling killed that mood quickly. You really should do some work. This story has potential.

Well, I finally got around to playing this one (you asked me to after my "sadistic side" comment on the school survival story), and I maintain that you ARE a denizen of the sadistic side.

This was pretty good, but I really think you should have just picked boy or girl and stuck with it. The constant him/her slash writing kind of messes up the mood.

That was good. Unfortually, I accidently got three people killed then my self from rolling in front of a truck, whoops. I was once working on a Final Destination game but...like always didn't finish it, and got rid of it. Maybe I'll start on one some time.
