Player Comments on Homo Perfectus 3
I think this was actually a really great conclusion to the trilogy. Overall I think it improved over the course of the three games, but there are still problems. The writing itself improved a good deal, and while there are still minor typo, the grammar is pretty decent. The biggest of the problems there's not enough description of locations. As a reader it's hard to visualize what's happening and where. This also results in a faster pace than makes sense for the story, because you just kind of arrive somewhere and then on the next page--boom--you're somewhere else. At the same time, the characterization improved, and especially in this game, there was a lot of dialogue between the characters which I enjoyed a lot! The last fight was really tough, but had an interesting solution which I enjoyed a lot, and overall the combat was also really solid, if not better than the last games.
Spoilers: While I didn't originally think that making Adam randomly become a superhero at the end of the previous game was a good idea, it actually works out fine in this one, because it functions as a device for his character development and interactions with Eve. I didn't manage to reach the "true" ending, but after I tried a second time and failed again, I decided to just review it. The final encounter with Meckard is really tough, but the conclusion is a good one (in my opinion) to end the trilogy. It also has some more sci-fi gadgetry that was really absent from the past two games, where the only sci-fi elements were the Shade Mask and the Homo Perfectuses themselves.
Overall, a very good conclusion to the trilogy, with the complexity of the previous games, a good plot, and better writing (although it's still got some ways to go).

This is excellent! It's a very nice improvement on Homo Perfectus 1&2, and I'm so glad that the author was able to continue to come up with new ideas and such for this storygame. With this third installment of the series, it is easily leading the pack of the other series's. As I continue to play through each one, I'm being drawn to play the next one as soon as possible because they are so much fun to play, and they are a great challenge for the mind. The length is perfect for this type of story, and has eneough space for numerous scenes of action, drama, and romance.
Unlike Homo Perfectus 2, the writing flows together nicely, with a good blend of complexity, structure, and basic diction. The writing hints at approaching danger, but I think that at a few moments in the story it is too obvious and should be re-worded. As long as you're actually reading and paying attention to the story, you can usually find the right solution to each problem thrown your way.
Homo Perfectus 3 has an incredible plot line that is like a roller coaster ride for us as readers. It gives a good amount of action to the story and allows for the reader to adjust nicely to each scene. As I've stated before, there are plenty of different climatic points in the storygame that can give the reader that rush of adrenaline that should be included in every storygame.
I have stated this twice now, and yet the author has still not quite managed to effectively describe each scene with the amount of detail required for a feature-worthy storygame. I'm severely disappointed in this aspect and I hope in the future that things can be different and the very best Homo Perfectus storygame will be created.
I like that characters are being nicely introduced and we as readers can relate with them immediately with the way the author describes and develops them, hiving us scenes of drama and realization that can make an emotional masterpiece of a story. In this one, Eve is undergoing deeper changes internally and her character revolves around the problems she herself creates.
The challenges as stated are now emotional as well as physical, giving us a deeper understanding and relation to the storyline. We can relate to the struggles Adam and Eve go through as being outsides in humanity and aren't quite treated as they'd like, which makes the identity of Shade even more appealing to them.
I'm still having a problem with not being able to use some of the abilities in certain situations, making the storygame much more difficult and slightly more linear. At the beginning of the storygame, it is automatically assumed that the story follows from the path that gives the best ending, so the others have virtually no purpose.
There were more grammatical errors rather than spelling this time, especially to the term "loose". It is used incorrectly many times, and the correct one would be "lose". I'd be happy to proofread if there is a future Homo Perfectus storygame.

This is the best one yet. Ammunition the return of Meckard. Adams sacrifice. It was a fitting end and a hero who will forever be unknown despite his actions. Rest In Peace Adam. I still feel sad about his death even now after playing it or the 3rd time.

I liked liked the game, especially the use of powers. Eve's character was nicely developed, which is especially interesting as she had not been given much of a character in HP1 and HP2. I also found the combat to be much smoother than in the previous HPs. The only suggestion I would give is to describe the setting in greater detail.

Wow, excellent Trilogy ending :D More details than the prequel and action packed to the very end. Kind of sad Adam died, but I guess not all stories have the perfect ending. :) Few grammatical errors, but I found the author isn't a native English speaker so It is actually pretty good. Could use more details, but otherwise awesome!

This game was definitely better than the last one as I could actually use the abilities instead of having to tank damage all the time. I wish there was a way to save Adam though, didn't Meckard say that Adam had Lazarus in him (so shouldn't he have reanimated)?

I have thoroughly enjoyed playing this from beginning to end. More than just technically impressive in terms of scripting and writing, this game also presents puzzles in ways that fit seamlessly into the progression of the plot, with solutions that are hinted at just enough to be solvable without wild guessing.
The super-heroic ending was a fitting, albeit bittersweet ending. I couldn't ask for more (but I will anyway, because there are five more games to go, and that fact makes me incredibly happy.)

Somehow, in the first two games I managed to get only both heroic endings. But now, I finally got the Super Heroic Ending! And it didn't disappoint. For me, an ending that calls for sacrifice is way better than the "and they lived happily ever after".
Like the Adam and Eve (or the Homo Perfectuses as they are called), this game is not perfect. It has some flaws and some limits . . . But that's what makes it great. It shows that nothing can be perfect yet something can be truly great. . . Like the Homo Perfectus Series.

Really nice story. Interesting fight scenes where you have to choose smartly to reduce casualties. I really liked it.
The way Adam finally kill Meckard was in fact the first thought i had at the beginning of the fight. And the first thing i tried. I was a little frustrated to only being able to do it at the very end. But i understand the battle wouldn't have been epic if finished this quickly !
The easter eggs was a nice addition too. But on this i have to point a mistake on the 10th easter egg : the man quoted for his ideas probably is "Jean-Jacques Rousseau" and not "John-Jaqcues Roussou".

A thing I notice about your battle scenes is that most of the time I'm clicking at random on which skill I will use. I think where you could improve in is that you could give hints to the player on what to do next and not have a "This item cannot be used here" text pop up all the time. Also, I wish you developed the game a little more slowly. What I mean is not just go from place to place but to take your time with the story process.
Don't be mistaken, it's a good game and series. Good plot, nice fight scenes, and nice characters. I just see some issues is all.
Overall though, good job.

A worthy ending to an excellent series. Its a wonderfull and rare find to see a series improve over time instead of being run into the ground. There were a few anoying repeating english errors, but those are easily overlooked. The combat in this game is vastly better than it was in HP1 and HP2, in this fact, I am well pleased. Knowing now that English isn't your first language, I'm more forgiving toward grammar errors. I have a tip, though. Two, rather.
1. When speaking in the first person (for example, "I," "mine," or "me" instead of "you" or "yours"), the person speaking always lists themselves last within a group of people. So it will always be "Eve and I," "Eve and me," "Mark, Eve, and myself," etc.
2. When using a phrase such as "Eve and me" in a sentence, pretend that the other person isn't there to determine whether you should use "me" or "I." For example, "Eve and me went to the store" is wrong, because you would not say "Me went to the store." Therefore, the correct phrasing would be "Eve and I went to the store." On the other hand, saying "He went to the park with Eve and me" is correct, since "He went to the park with me" is fine.
Hopefully this makes sense.
Interesting story.

This was a really fun game series, even though when I played the 1st one, I had Adam kill Eve and then in the 2nd, I accidentally made Damage kill Mark... It was just really weird seeing Eve and Mark alive and well.

I'm wondering how to get the second ending... is there an ending better than heroic? I bet there is. In the others there was "super heroic"... but I can't seem to find this one.

@Bo
The plural form of Perfectus was possibly the thing that vexed me the most about making the series. I asked about everyone around me because I felt both Perfecti and Perfectuses didn't sound right. Seems like I chose the wrong one :p

Great game, a few grammatical and spelling errors, a few wrong tenses but the game is so good it doesn't affect it much. remember, the plural form of something ending in "us" ends in an "i".Bo approves

This was awesome!! Definitely the best in the series and definitely super super cool. Your writing has improved DRAMATICALLY since HP 1 and I love how you linked your two series' together. That was awesome. Two small nitpicks: 1. When bullet is in the helicopter, I should have just been able to increase volume, to kill him. Even if he was wearing ear muffs, they wouldn't protect him. 2. You said 'Y gene', as a science major, I have to point out that you meant 'Y chromosome'.
Great work!

@hristian
Well, I hope you realize then that stories cannot be assumed to mimic stories that are of the same theme.

Well, this wasn't really my style. I'm not really into superheroes, so it kinda put me off. BUT! The story was great, the writing made it easy to read, and the overall plot was interesting, and /so/ worth reading!

@Jordan.
Right now I'm working on a Marvel game (check my profile page for more info on that), but afterwords, I might start working on the Peacemakers (if you got the Easter eggs, you'll recognize that name). I wouldn't make a series out of it, but the story is still just as long as Homo Perfectus. I'll most likely just make a really long one.

Woot! Superheroic ending on the first try!!!!! As always, excellent game! I played the first Reanimater, but not the second one yet. I'll have to play the second to get the backstory, and see how the mercenary fared in the story. Are you planning on writing any other series of games in the future? I sincerely hope so!

@chaospreferable I'm going to have to ask you to explain how it is misogynistic and anti-religious? The villain is definately anti-religious, that doesn't mean the story is. The villains usually represent everything the hero stands against. Misogynistic? You mean because the Lazaruses affect males and females differently? Seriously? That makes it misogynistic. Other than that I can understand what you said.

Excellent plot, good continuity if a little predictable. Poorly placed slightly misogynistic and anti-religious themes distract from the flow and do not fit in well with the story; seem to exist for their own sake. The writing style is mediocre (perhaps because, from what I understand, the author is not a native English speaker) and the dialogue is stilted. Fulfills its main purpose: entertainment, but fails to fully explore interesting themes and characters. Overall, very entertaining, but falls short of its obvious potential.
