Graphical story anyone? on 7/22/2013 4:58:03 PM

Progress thus far:

The original Idea was something like the Kindle Choose Your Own Stories books, which aren't that difficult to program but its limited to the bog standard Kindle so I thought cross platform would be nice, but over the last week or so the costs and hoops you need to jump through is unreal (and out of my budget of minus zero)

I've decided to use the engine  Daedalic use for their Living Stories, which gives me the option to be interactive as well, its early days and for the first book it'll be Edutainment (there's a story here but the author hasn't been around for 11 years!)

So I'm going to beaver away and get a demo working :)

Strange posting issue on 7/22/2013 6:54:03 AM

I was trying to post in a thread I'd made and when I press Enter the line of text I had written moved down, it was impossible to start a new line,

At one point I ended up with text I written move to the first line so I copied it and tried to paste at the cursor and it just went back to the start.

Just to make it interesting backspace took me off the page completely

I stated the new post from my original thread I made, so maybe its that? I dunno maybe I took to many meds and it was just an illusion lol.. its working fine here :/

I'm on Windows 7 64 and IE10, num lock is off, no coffee, tea booze etc in the keyboard

Its the http://chooseyourstory.com/forums/writing-workshop/message/9764 thread

How do you creat mazes? on 7/19/2013 9:06:32 AM

I agree avoid mazes like the plague.. in graphical games tile sliding puzzles are another "don't do"

Its an easy way to make a game longer but I think most people would get bored

Looking to partner with storygame authors on 7/18/2013 6:38:34 AM

Wouldn't it be easier to do a charity drive for books? My wife could start her own mobile library with the books she has!

call me a skeptic but the U turn on kids to adult seems very odd, its like putting The Beano and Playboy on the same shelf

A Story About Killing Hitler on 7/18/2013 5:01:40 AM

I was a bit wary, for some reason as I get older the whole Hitler/Nazi thing becomes more of an issue, I was born 17 years after the war and no one really talked about it, in my part of the UK we got away lightly just a rogue ME109 making its final stand down the high street, which was surprising because a lot of the heavy English and Canadian bombers were based around here... basically as a kid we run around killing Germans, anyone involved with the war never spoke about it so any knowledge you gained was from movies and TV

I enjoyed the story, I took the WW1 path and tried to take him out early and successfully got myself mugged! Just like a Saturday night out at home!

Very interesting work, I will explore further :)

Hi liuxess

Yes I'm interested, Like I said I'm mainly a 3D artist but there's ways to tone it down, so your talking photoreal, 3D game , toon or line art, toon/cel shader is probably the quickest
