Hey there. I'm a semi-active member that none of you probably know haha. 

I'm working on my first SG (Story game) but I just want to know, how many new members come here? And is this place still active?

You could've just checked the forum to get a pretty decent idea of that. Literally all you'd have to do is open one thread, and you'd notice that nope, we're not dead yet. Or you could've just watched the site for a few hours to see how many people log in. A few excellent writers, plenty of faggots, plenty of retards, a whole lot of quiet strangers that come here just to read.

Pretty logical answer, but I was lazy and looked at the bottom and saw that there weren't that many people online.

I wonder how is a person so lazy that they can't even click things a few times going to write a whole bunch of words for their story. That requires much more energy, I don't know if you can handle it. I suppose I'll just have to wait and find out. Good luck with your story.

Or you could just click on their name, copy their unpublished story’s name, and then paste it next to ‘ chooseyourstory.com/story/’, add hyphens in between the words, and click enter to see for yourself. ( whenever there is a ‘:’, just replace it with ‘~3a’. it’s kind of weird that we’re able to do this.

Ah yeah, I know that, but thanks. You can only do that if the story's in sneak peek, though. I might check if this user has one later, but for now I'm having a great day and don't want to potentially ruin it with awfulness.

I joined 2 days ago. Considering this is one of the only few good story-writing communities on the web that doesn't clutter the place in a sea of fan-fic porn, I'd say that this place is not dead.

   No, even in the middle of the night, I see at LEAST 4 people online and ~60 guests. Pretty good for a predominantly English (American?) website.

Also as with a lot of story communities, there are always A LOT more silent lurker/readers rather than writers/forum posters so even if it seems like forum activity is low, the place is still fairly active.

Another good example of that is Infinite Story which has been "dead" for years as far as a forum goes, but there are still new stories popping up on it

I heard a theory once that there could even be people who come here to work on their stories rather than screw around chatting about unrelated things, but, that seems pretty far fetched.

Also, our forum is fairly dead given the fact everyone good just chats in the Discord.

We are pretty dang multicultural actually, I guess that goes with the territory of being one of the two major CYOA sites even out there. Site has Indians, Australians, and probably others along with the usual assorted Eurofags, plus Will11 is still strangling hookers in China.

From time to time, I just stay out of most of the discussions because they confuse me :)

Most of the lounge activity is done though discord now but the occasional thread pops up where the site members get together for writing stuff.

There was a recent 50 word story thread in the Creative Corner that was popular. You should check it out.

I find it weird that you got a far as making a thread on the forum while somehow bypassing the index where you could've seen every board was posted on in the last 24 hours but ok. I think the fact that this thread you created at 1AM my time has gotten multiple responses in the three hours since should answer your question anyhow.

Clicking a few newer stories and seeing how long it took to get feedback after publishing might also be a thing someone might consider. (I'm always a little surprised to see people starting projects without even looking at anyone else's to see what the standard of writing or reviewing is here but I guess you're hardly the first there...)
