Hi! I'm Caelum and I'm a fairly new writer. I don't have any completed works yet (*OCs currently banging on the basement door*) but I'd love to contribute anyways! I'm so glad I discovered this little corner of the internet because I've been looking for a way to stay connected online without getting sucked into the pits of doomscrolling on [SNS platform of choice]. So hi everyone!

Also does anyone know how to access contests? Like is there a specific page or thread I need to go to? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the site, mahoutsukai! FYI: everyone is probably very suspicious of new noobs due to some recent drama, but  I hope you enjoy your stay here!

I suggest not joining any contests yet, but if you really want to, you just need to go to the contest thread and state which unclaimed prompt you would like to do.

Also, a bit of general advice that applies to the entire internet: Try your best not to share your real name unless absolutely necessary.

I'm remaining cautiously optimistic that all newbies are real, trusting that the pretenders struggle so much with human behavior they'll unavoidably reveal themselves in time.

Yes, I am a real noob (not a pretender) and no, Caelum's not my real name either (it's my pen name teehee) but thanks everyone for the advice! I'm working on a story that I'm really excited to share sometime soon!

Have you considered taking the contest's Bible prompt, making a thread about doing a hugely complicated, barely related epic, and then getting banned without writing a word yet?

Hey Caelum, welcome to the site and enjoy your time here :D I can honestly say I have never heard of any of the stuff you mentioned in your profile and I'm not even sure what genre they fall into but I'm sure they'll be something here you'll enjoy reading. Don't worry about throwing yourself into a writing competition too quickly, take your time to enjoy the stories and looking forward to your writing :)

Welcome. While I wouldn't recommend jumping in this late to Endmaster's prompt contest, if you are really itching for something like that, there are some people that joining a one-day storygame contest. Just by the parameters of the rules, it will require fairly short and simple games, so might not be terrible for a first effort.
