First off, HELLO EVERYBODY!!!

My name is Mike, and I'm new to this site. I have started a story/game on another site. Once I found this one, I figured that I might as well give this one a try as well. So far it seems like the community here is a bit more involved with each other, which is definitely a good thing.

Now, on to my questions...

1) I don't really want to read through pages and pages of "Newbie Central" topics to try to find all the basic editing tools I need, if anybody can point me in the right direction on where to find it, or just tell me the codes, that would be excellent. If possible, you may want to sticky it to the top (if not already done).

2) On the other site, they have all of the stories divided by maturity level. The levels range from G (child friendly) to Adult. Some of the adult stuff is there for a very good reason. I mention this in regards to my second question... Is there a line on the content you can publish, and what crosses it? I know that most of us here can read, hence joining into a site such as this, and we can choose NOT to read something that we think may offend us. I only ask because I don't want to have somebody get offended by anything that I may write somewhere, and then have hours/days/weeks/months of work ruined because somebody could have just easily passed up my story.

3) I think that was all that I had for now. So hopefully I have something up soon for you guys :)

Also, I look forward to interacting with all of the members here. I can already tell this will be an enjoyable experience and an excellent place to drop some of my writing.

There are some good articles under Help & Info you should check out. Also, feel free to set up a test game to just try stuff out with to familiarize yourself with the advanced editor. Most of it (except scripting) is very intuitive.

Welcome to the site! About your questions, you can just ask them, we won't mind. Also, as long as you have the proper maturity level indicated, it should be fine.

From what I can tell gore&violence are okay as long as you provide reasons for it. For other things like drugs and whatnot you can do it, just don't get out of hand. Also always make sure things like this actually have reasons within the story.

Just remember this: PWMUSSBE (People Who Make Uncompletable Storygames Should Be Executed)

You can write whatever you please, if you put effort into it. The sorts of things not tolerated include ludicrously inept stories involving racist or bigoted statements without any actual creativity, verbally abusing or including other members in your story to incite inflammatory responses, etc.

Most people don't breach the Terms of Service, so feel free to create away.
