Hmm, I've noticed a severe increase in shit storygames. Have to get to purging them later assuming another mod doesn't get to it first.

Rate Game I Like Trains Adventure

It's almost definitely a person's alt considering almost all the accounts were made on the 6th.

Must be a very dedicated troll...

I personally don't think so given how some of these have different writing styles.

Then again, I stopped reading after the fifth one.

The dragon one was decent and if edited, could be a 4 in my opinion.

Dragon one's probably just happened to be posted same time as this wave hit. If I had to guess why there is so many, I'd say something like a teacher showed this site to their class to practice writing in like computer class.

That could be an explanation but why were all the accounts made on 9 June but the stories posted on 16 September? The guy who wrote the dragon story is part of the same group, maybe he's just the one who's taking the assignment seriously? Overall I'd put the writers' age around 7 or 8, mental if not literal :)

Hm. well, whatever happened, things are going to be deleted.

I hope the links I posted help with tracking stuff down.

I'd say atleast 10. I mean, I wrote the same kind of crap only a couple years ago. I've only been taking writing seriously since a couple months after joining the site.

Well I've just stocked up on about 20 free points in 5 minutes.Maybe its a class of pre-school children or one person has actually gone very insane considering the amount of effort that has gone into these stories, for all that time spent making so many bad stories they could have written one really good one! It's all a massive waste of time anyway because all the stories and accounts will just be deleted or blocked anyway... that is crazy on an impressive scale! Incidentally I think the dragon story was a genuine effort, possibly by the same person who made all the alts or possibly not.

Well, I guess @Mizal and @Steve24833 better get me my antler helmet. It's a dark day indeed.

That's a republish. End unpublished everything after Hollow Hearth other than the Dragon kid's story. I guess it's time to hit the real nuke button.

Oh welp. Delete them all instead of just unpublishing.

Well, most of them couldn't even use paragraphs. And some couldn't even punctuate sentences properly. Seriously, that teacher is failing on multiple levels.

And this is why schools need more funding.

Takes slightly longer to delete (unless I'm missing a better way of doing it) so it was a quick unpublish for all of them. Save for pigshit's story which was deleted immediately since it was particularly idiotic and he's been running around with a couple of alts anyway.

If any of them value their story's existence, they'll leave them unpublished and just give their teacher the links so he can grade them or whatever the hell this was supposed to be for.

The horrendous writing was forever branded into his mind, and even after the almight Endmaster had unpublished them...the memories of those "stories" were slowly killing the rest of his brain cells.

He couldn't stand this slow deterioration, this sluggish descend into madness and horrible writing..but there was nothing he could do about it.

This must be what a school shooter feels like.

Hot Dog girl can stay for now. It looks like a modicum of effort was put into it. Though it will probably get unpublished eventually since I don't anticipate that it will get high ratings.

I rated it a 2 on the basis that it surprisingly wasn't as bad as the others that I had read today :P

Edit: I'm very curious about that dragon story, since I heard that one is truly the best out of the bunch or something.

Sent a PM to Dragon story guy to tell his class that more deletions and bannings will be coming if they keep posting crap.

Well, from the writing..they are either one of the "special" classes, or they are very, very young.

They're literally between the ages of 11 and 12.

The thing that gets me is - when I was that age, I sure as shit wrote in actual paragraphs and used basic punctuation and grammar in anything I wrote. Some of these kids today, I just don't get it. It's like they're on a sub kindergarten writing level on the absolute basics.

Heh, my old man told me I wasn't ready for school if I couldn't count to 100 and write sentences before the first day of preschool. I'd line rocks up on planks and count them out loud while he was building the garage. He'd give me the next number if I messed up, and then I knock all the rocks off and start over.

I don't know if it's the parents or teachers, but somethings wrong with kids these days.

I learned the multiplication table in first grade. I knew how to write, read, and draw—properly—by then as well (Kindergarten and preschool was for me to adjust languages). Electronics, media, and such are a bad effect on the younger children (pues, older people too...) Books have lost value other than for people who actually want to learn or read stories or whatnot. I knew the basics of two languages by third grade, and I'm learning two more right now. The people that don't know the basics of even one language? ???!

EDIT: That last part didn't turn out how I wanted it to (without tone marks because those are annoying af)... ???! was supposed to be the characterized version of: tai huai le!

Well, this generation is fucked. Literally. They don't give a shit on what happens in their life. They just believe they could do fuck until they're in high school and magically get high grades and "fuck people". I mean, what the literal hell? 

Parents and society have a bad influence (or at least, don't give good influence and leave the kids to the wolves). *shrugs* What can I say? They don't try (Hey... I'm having this coversation in PMs at the same time. Coincidence? o.O). But I mean if they start working harder by 7th grade, they could do better.

Meh. I wasn't good or anything at when I was younger, but probably better than these people. 

My stories had something called "sentences" and "paragraphs." And other things that went in like real stories.

 

I was filling spiral notebooks with stories far better than that drivel when I was ten. And this isn't me bragging or whatever, I remember 4th grade language arts well enough...class projects other kids would read out loud were better than this stuff too. 

At 12 I played MUDs with my classmates every day. Or kids that age at the very least know how to write five paragraph essays getting their point across using basic English.

Really though, their teacher deserves our ire more than the kids do.

I always like to point out that The Hobbit was written for ten year olds, just to illustrate how stupid kids have gotten since.

My teacher was suprised when I was reading the Da Vinci Code. And considering my age, that shouldn't come as a shock. :P

There should be a minimum age requirement for the site. The amount of literal children showing up and producing garbage is astounding.

Besides, I've seen some pretty good stories from some young writers.

Yeah, I remember when all those kids watched porn, until they added that button you press if you're under eighteen, and it sends you away from the site. That stopped that issue.

happens every year. school starts for children and iirc most ip's are from a school library in Australia (that's what last years was).

So let me get this straight... there was a massive influx of crappy, free-point storygames that originated from the same I.P. address, and I MISSED IT! Why did all the kids have to publish their games during working hours?... I'm starting to understand Mizal's perspective now. Is this I.P. address having any other activity on CYS, or was it just a random tidal wave?
