... I Love You Colonel Sanders! (A finger lickin' good dating simulator.) So... This is a thing. This is a real thing that actually exists... Of course this is a thing... Because anime!

I saw that and watched the trailer three times trying to comprehend what's happening in the world. Then I laughed really hard, just because this is so absurd.

And the weirdest part... If you look this up on Steam, you see that the publisher is KFC... KFC, the fast food company, actually paid game developers to make a Colonel Sanders dating sim. ^_^

Missed opportunity, if they were really going for a proper dating sim, they should have had a bunch of various fast food mascots to choose from.

In any case would have been funnier to have the Colonel looking like the old southern white dude he actually is rather than the barely masculine femboy that they’re portraying him as.

Protagonist: I had such a wonderful afternoon with Ronald-chan... But I completely forgot I was supposed to get burgers for The King-kun's BBQ! I should take a short cut down this dark alley!

To be fair though, this is far from the weirdest dating sim I've ever seen. I must say, my personal favourite is Hatoful Boyfriend... A kind of harem anime game, where you play as the only girl in an all boy's school... For pigeons... You heard that right. A pigeon dating sim! (Just want to clarify here that you yourself are not a pigeon because, you know, that would be weird! You are, in fact, a human girl who's goal is to find romance with one of many talking pigeons.)

There's a dedicated childhood friend pigeon, a snobby French exchange student pigeon, a popular flirty jock pigeon, a sexy teacher pigeon... And I think there might've been a ghost pigeon in there somewhere, because just being a regular talking pigeon wasn't weird enough... And they're all so dreamy! However will you choose? ^_^

… I also hear there's a dating sim where you get to pork a T-Rex or something?

I went back and looked at the first one just to remind myself of how wierd the trailer was. Then I read the reviews. The most common complaint was that there was no sex.

I don't know about T-rexes, but you can date dragons in Angels with Scaly Wings.

a weird marketing thing on kfc's part but it has gotten people talking so i guess it wasn't all that ineffective. i actually follow the artist who did all the sprites on instagram and its weird knowing she's drawn colonel sanders sexy even though her other art looks pretty different.
