Hello! I'm new! I decided to make an account here because I thought it would be easier to create CYOA stories here rather than on A03, and so far, it seems so fun. :D The issue is that I noticed that it doesn't seem that lively. Is this site dying or do I not know how to navigate the site enough to find new posts T-T

Welcome to the site, Purple! I'm semi-new here as well, and also had that question when I first joined.

From what I've seen, it is a steady community, if not a bustling one. There are probably bigger ones out there that have much more happening, but I think this is one of the more robust sites. At least two major events have happened since I joined, TIG and the Thunderdome, and there have been some minor waves of posting in between. The rest of the time, there seem to be only a few posts every day.

As for navigating, I've found that if you click on "Forums" on the side, then you can see the most recent post in each of the sub-categories. I then go through all those that have been posted in since I last checked, to make sure nothing is getting covered up.

TL;DR: It's a robust community that gets bursts of activity. Click through the forums and check out what has been posted since you last checked.

 

I'll leave it to the more experienced ones to explain it all better, lol.

Thanks for replying! I'll check out more of the forums :D but so far it seems like a good site, it reminds me of how Quotev used to run so I think I'll get used to navigating it soon enough lol

Anyway, the noob just missed out on the recent forum active time period. It'll probably be quiet until the next big event like another contest or something.

Of course, "noob." This could all be a clever ruse to make an alt.

A lot more action during contests. People check often but this forum is less about shooting the shit and more about writing and reading.

Might I redirect you to the Thunderdome thread in the News & Updates section of the forum? That's where all the action is at right now.

With the right application of necromantic energies, even corpses call participate in an online community. We don't discriminate against the dead here, do better.

Does sound pretty deadphobic to me.

I first joined in 2021 and have periodically come back every few months or so. My posts usually get at least marginal interaction, so I'd say the site probably isn't dead. Just periodically quiet.

Typically the forums get quiet from time to time, but seeing as there is currently over 300 guests on here right now, everyone just prefers lurking/reading for various reasons.

Heyo sorry if this is the wrong place but do you have any plans in the works? I come here occasionally to see if you have anything posted. During exam periods generally lol. Originally, it was your stories that really enthralled me into this method of story telling. The ability of yours to expand the world through the use of different choices was amazing all those years ago and still is. Either way, props to you.

Yeah I'm trying to finish Soulless this year. Hopefully by November.

Then it'll be time to immediately work on Paradise Fortress. That one, hopefully finished sometime in 2027.

Only you can keep the site going MTP. The forums' liveliness is dependent on you maintaining for as long as you can. Review like the wind! Write like a 1000 chimps!

Forums sometimes get dead, sometimes they get lively.

That said, there's a shitload of stories, which is presumably what you're here for. Even if the forums were literally dead you have so many hours of content ahead of you.

The forums have quiet and lively times. A major competition has just ended so the site's quieter than usual, which means it will probably be busier than usual again soon :) There are about 1,000 stories for you to read and review if you are looking for something to do, not to mention writing your own of course :D
