Start here, and then scroll down to the various "Flutter leaving the site" threads on the Lounge to watch the unwellness progress. They have been helpfully numbered.
He wrote a lot of fanfic before all this, LotR, Star Wars, and then of course MLP. It was all grammatically sound with passable enough writing, but not anything that really stood out for much more than sheer volume. There were some common criticisms of broken scripting and the recurring hamfisted "moral choices" that were (literally) "help the lost puppy, or kick the puppy for no reason!" type scenarios, with a bit of vegan moralizing thrown in, but it was usually just one scene per story to get it out of his system. The writing itself just began to feel pretty formulaic without the sense he was ever trying very hard to push himself or incorporate advice which was my main issue with it all, but generally speaking I would've called him a good contributor just off doing his own thing.
Very unashamedly obsessed with MLP obviously, and dorkily wholesome in a way that I thought was pretty endearing.
Anyway, Flutter had just finished a 200k MLP fanfic, but then basically immediately after that went manic and produced the very curious storygame the original thread is about, which was 30k of linear text dumps about Greek gods being Satan (he thinks lots of things are Satan now) and the dangers of spoken communication causing "panic and disorganized thoughts".
Right before we noticed what was going on with him he became obsessed with Marshall Mcluhan's writings, and so a lot of his own manifesto were regurgitated ideas from him and C.S. Lewis and various rabbit holes on reddit.
I never got to finish the more detailed review I was working on since there didn't seem to be any point once he started leaving the site, but I basically would compare it to ripping parts off dolls, clumsily duct taping an arm to a neck socket and a head to an ass and then wondering why people can't perceive it the way they did the originals--he actually demanded to know why nobody ever said C.S. Lewis was schizo at one point, he felt his writing was on the same level.
Anyway, he deleted all his stories in a panic once he realized the mods could still read them unpublished, he was really afraid of Malk's Satanic powers at that point. (Malk called him a "pink ponyboy clopper" in passing once and he took it very hard.)
The schizo one opened with a quote from Linkara (some trilby wearing webcomic guy?) and was basically just this linear thing with Merlin giving misinformed infodumps about ancient societies and then telling you that MLP:FiM and the LotR
movies (not the books, just the movies), as well as certain specific Star Wars movies were "the last stand of Christianity." (Flutter's own, personal version.)
There are screenshots I could dig up.
Anyway, we tried to help him recover the stories so that he could make copies of the big MLP one at least, but he kept dragging his feet and changing his mind on that, and it came out that all the while he was going around in circles DMing some very patient people about Malk being Lucifer or whatever, so finally just pulled the plug and banned him.
The schizo story Sent kept in suspended animation using a glitch since it seemed important to Flutter (and was important context for the memes) but I just removed that one too since he referenced it here, I can only conclude that keeping it around is feeding the crazy.
