Profile, huh? Let's see...
My two utmost passions include both gaming and reading, to find both interlaced by stumbling upon CYOA games seemed almost euphoric!
Hrm, I'm 20 years old, female, British, have an absolute adoration with RPG's, especially the Elder scrolls series (Surprise surprise!), and pretty much a thrill seeker, tandem jumping anyone?
What else, or dear, I shall cut short evidence of my terrible profile-making skills, many thanks for the wonderful site! x
Storygames
Fraleron. Cadaynn Castle, 1488.
A young girl, born from the village of Leridien, stumbles upon a small crevice within one of the outer walls of the castle bordering the new town in which she lives. After hesitating she jostles through the gap to find a magnificent garden. Yet a more astonishing sight remains to be the young girl dressed in staggeringly beautiful and elegant clothing. Over the years she continues to return and the two girls form a friendship which continues to grow into an almost unbreakable bond. This is, until, a war erupts between the neighboring kingdom of Taedan. From then on, her choices determines not only her her own life but the intertwined lives of countless others.
Warning: Contains same-sex relationships and graphic violence.
Author note: The Prologue is linear (and fairly long), so please be patient. I highly reccomended that you read it as it sets the scene for the rest of the game.

Haha, I'm glad I'm not the only one who laughed out loud when reading the topic title. ;)
Female leads? on 5/19/2011 12:49:59 PM
Ah, good point, there is a good degree of androgynous characters on this site which I'm glad of, my only real upset is when gender is a main factor in influencing the story, romance for example.
Hmm, just re-read my post, I sound rather like a radical feminist! Lol, not true of course, I usually don't mind playing either gender, it's just nice to have the option available. ;)
Female leads? on 5/19/2011 11:11:38 AM
I was wondering the exact same thing! :)
Honestly I'm quite surprised that the majority on this site seem to be male, hence the focus towards male protagonists? Then again, I suppose this is rather an offset of the gaming community whereby men seem to be the larger target audience.
In response I've begun writing a (rather long) CYOA with a female protagonist. Granted shes a lesbian so I'm not sure how well a majority of female players will relate to the player character :P. Speaking of which there isn't much LGBT related content either... no surprise there considering the minority, lol.
Oh well, at least I'll try to do my bit towards diversity. XD

Maturity Levels Clarification on 5/7/2011 4:05:21 PM
Hello all,
I'm currently working on my first CYOA game and was hoping for a little clarification in regards to maturity levels. I have read the article available on this site explaining rating levels but was a little unclear as to 'How much is too much' so to speak as it does say "No stories on this site are allowed to have extremely violent or pornographic themes."
Although such content would only be in brief encounters I had wished to include some rather mature scenes throughout, I'm wondering if there are any examples of other story games which are just nearing acceptable limits to get some idea, or perhaps some further explanation?
Many thanks. ;)
