Any book that does not feature cats and warriors(and has decent grammar and plot) is ok in my book!

Look to my post above. While I do not know that book, if it has a decent plot and grammar and doesn't feature warriors and cats, it's good enough for me!

Then you'll love it. ^-^

Oh, I loved Redwall.  The original book is my favorite, but the whole series was fun.  Jacques was totally inconsistent with just how anthro the animals were, but who cares?

My cat is named after one of the characters from the original book. XD

Well, then that means I'll have to read Redwall,

?Don't want to bother, but what's the plot about?

Warrior mice.

"When Redwall Abbey is attacked by a rat known as Cluny the Scourge, the Redwallers rise up in defense. A young mouse known as Matthias embarks on a quest to recover the legendary sword of Martin the Warrior for Redwall and his friends, because he believes that the sword is necessary in defeating Cluny's horde."

The story didn't have to be about mice at all though, it could have just been a standard high fantasy epic.

Really, the animals basically serve the same purpose as fantasy races throughout the series. Like, all hares have similar personalities, all badgerlords are essentially alike, etc.

Well, then that might be a interesting story to read.

Hey, maybe the author wanted to make a book about animals, but didn't want to use cats since you know... Warrior Cats. Anyway, I agree to your point, but I also see why he would want to make a story about animals.

What?  No, no, Redwall was written way back in 1986.  There's like, over 20 books in the series, and they're all "adult" sized books.

Define "proper book".

As I said, a book with a decent plot and grammar, somewhat interesting characters. And as long as  it's not about warrior cats. That's the minimum for me!

Warrior Cats has decent grammar and somewhat interesting characters. It's the furry porn fanfic that sucks shit.

Due to the frequent adaptions of the traditional character, I would highly recommend Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. The plot is well rounded, highly original. And, if not that, then Don Quixote de la Mancha by Miguel Cervantes.
