Hi, I’m bored and I wanna test the community here. How many people will respond? In what way will they respond? Hmmmmm, so many questions so little time frfr.

Not sure about the genre but your mom makes for a hell of an actress.

Yeah she’s quite the actress. But enough prompts for my mom, lets have a sit down and talk about your mom? Your mom honestly deserves so much more praise with her acting, like it doesn’t even compare to my mom like just wow.

You got quite the mother there. If I were you I’d keep an eye on her. ;)

Damn, read all the storygames already? Well, you could always comment on a few or write one of your own if you're that hard up for things to do atound here.

I haven’t read it all, was just bored, and as a matter of fact I am actually currently writing a story. It’s in the future and has giant mechs called titans that pilots control. No not pilot pilots like a plane flying pilot, its just a name for an advanced soldier with special trainings and such.

A sci-fi game with mechs called titans and pilots with advanced training, seems original.

It's hard to say, because movies are so internally varied that it's very rare that I'll watch it based on genre alone. Somebody can tell me some shit like "Hey, let's watch a romcom" or "Hey, let's watch a biographical crime drama" or something like that and I'll 100% be down for it every time. But If somebody tells me "Let's watch a kung fu movie from the 70s or 80s", I dunno, there's something about them that draws me. It certainly helps that a lot of the mainstream ones were made by the same circle of people so there's an element of consistency there, but I mean, I dunno, even the really off-brand ones are fascinating to me. It was such a wild artistic movement that contained a lot of subgenres unto themselves.

I used to think that it was always a safe bet to go watch a superhero movie whenever I went to the big screens, but I'm starting to get really bored of watching the stuff marvel or dc puts out. It's always the same formulaic stuff. Of course, it could also be that whole nostalgia psyche effect because I'm associating older superhero movies to the time when my life was happier. Maybe those movies were never any good to begin with.

In any case, I'm not really big on watching movies anymore.

MCU is shit. I don't watch a lot of movies anymore, and have never settled on a favorite genre, but I want some kind of emotional depth when I set aside hours of my time and that whole line doesn't seem too interested in anything but filler. The characters were kept flat and stagnant by design, they're just there to make ironic quips and never confuse audiences with any major development or growth carried over from a movie they might not have seen. The handful that I did sort of like before I tuned out completely could've all more or less stood as standalone things and would've been better for it too.

And they started caring less and less about even making them look good as time went on, there's popcorn flicks from 15 years ago that are a more visually detailed and interesting. It's like Disney trained a whole generation to be spoonfed shit and call it ice cream.

I'm just glad the Avatar movies exist and that Cameron is making a couple more. The Way of Water restored my faith in big budget spectacle movies, they can still blow your mind with visuals while telling a compelling and complex story. Rewatched that one not long ago, still tear up at the funeral.

Yeah. The marvel standalone movies I liked. Such as iron man and the sequels. Captain America. Hulk and spiderman, especially the older versions (Toby Maguire is the best spiderman). Actual avengers though is a load of shit. Thanos's plan didn't even make sense. I thought he was meant to be a super genius? Dude didn't seem so smart if his grand scheme didn't even fix anything permanently. Avatar is good though, has a bit of everything and doubles for a cute romance story. I liked it as a kid, even had a crush on the big blue lady. Avatar resonated with me a lot, especially for the spiritual customs and beliefs of the na'vi.

Iron man honestly has actual character development in his own movies. He was the MCU for me.

And then they had to go kill him :(

The first one was a little simplistic as far as the plot (I remember people would call it Dances With Aliens lol), but there were some stand out actors making the most of the material they had, and of course the introduction of the planet itself.

The Way of Water was a whole nother beast though, it has the parallel stories for I guess basically "what family means" and of vengeance/forgiveness. The whole thing is a multilayered story that did some clever things with expectations, while still giving the characters and other developments room to breathe. And it left a couple of avenues open for rampant speculation. I'm super excited about where the next two go. There's a kind of sincerity behind it all that is very rare to see anymore.

I guess it feels a little like the Lord of the Rings books in the way they built off the simple, slim little Hobbit novel that was needed to dip people's toes in the setting before the bigger story could really take off.

Really? I thought the way of water was good, but nothing leaps and bounds better than the first. I probably actually preffered the first due to me being a kid when I saw it (everything is more exciting when you're a kid). So maybe I'm biased there. I have read a bit about a lot of the lore and other tribes that exist which still haven't been revealed that in a later movies will presumably band together to fight the humans.

In Avatar, we learned an important lesson... Cutting down trees is wrong!

In Avatar the Way of Water, we learned an even more important lesson... Killing whales is wrong!

If you ask about a horror movie, then it's The Nun 1 and 2. For me it isn't all that scary, it has some humor, but it's into religion a bit too much.

Casablanca (1942)

Twelve Angry Men (1957)

My Fair Lady (1964)

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971)

One sad fact: Most movies from 2023, 2024 ( except Wolverine and Deadpool in 2024 ) are mostly bad. I will always stick with the legends, 90s films/movies.

Still hasn't finished his grocery bag story yet.

Ah the grocery bag story, I haven’t been working on that at all, but I can work on that while I also work on my titan fall story. The only story I am currently working on run is the titan fall. The grocery bag will be much shorter, but I could make that one quickly and hold off titan fall for a few days. The grocery bag story can just be a warm up to my titan fall one.

My grocery bag story I can write and take a temp break from titan fall so y’all can have a taste, and see what I can do.

And yes my own question, my favorite movie genre would have to be horror or action. More horror than action though.

And apologies for my absence. Been having some family drama happening as of late and It’s been rough. Also a note, I’m not always constantly working on my stories all day every day. So it will indeed be awhile.

Omg I already have another horror story game idea. I can’t focus on one task! Stupid flickering fricking ADHD. This is utterly preposterous!

THATS IT, I’m just going to work on my titan fall story and then maybe grocery bag or just scrap it and make a horror story.

I don't really like movies (Most movies feel formulaic because they have to tell a story in a small time frame), but my favorites are probably Oppenhemier and Whiplash My very short to watch list is currently as follows: Goodwill hunting Django Inglorious Bastards I've seen Django when I was little, but don't remember all of it. But the common theme between all these movies is I've seen youtube shorts of them and they've looked really good

Light comedy and classic old movies.  I don't want any angst or tension or sadness in my movies.  I don't need any extra emotions.  That's what I have kids for.

What’s yalls favorite movie genre?

Generally, my go to genres will be similar to Gower.  If I'm going to spend my time watching something I want it to be light and enjoyable so that I can unwind. There is enough drama and tension during an average day that I dont want to spend my free time doing that. So light comedy and some action with senseless violence.
