Certain people in the Discord seem really excited about Spotify Wrapped, so here, have a thread.

I can't contribute to this one at all, I'm too old. Feel free to post your own lists and then be made fun of by your peers and then have to make excuses though.

All five of my top albums were by Pierce the Veil, as it should be.

A benefit of living near LA I suppose!

We went down to the venue the day it was supposed to happen, but he had lost his voice the night before and had to cancel a bit last minute so we ended up being stuck in LA all day.

He gave free tickets for the re-scheduled show to those who had bought a ticket previously, but I was so worried it'd be on a day I wouldn't be able to go. Managed to work out perfectly and he is a fantastic performer live. Although I am glad he didn't play "Let Me Drown" or Permanently Lonely live I would have died

Apparently I'm the five thousandth something most avid Sting listener, so that's neat.

I ended up with 3700 minutes of Disturbed this year which was somehow 10% of my Spotify total.

Top 3 Lady Lamb listeners.
30,000 minutes on her alone, 120,000 total for the year.
Other notable artists in my top five include Conan Gray (Specifically his new album.) Yaelokre, and the Oh Hellos.
Top Song this year was Heretic (Lady Lamb) followed closely by Walrus. (Also Lady Lamb)
All in all, a good year musically, I believe.

I personally prefer Kid and Leveret, but Harpy Hare is amazing as well.

I'll give them a try! Thanks for the recommendation.

Well, I'm apparently 72 years old according to my music taste, lol. My top song was also Shop from Undertale, and I listened to a lot of orchestral remixes by Karu as well, so I'm not sure how it got that age

I've seen a lot of discussion on the music ages, seems like it goes quite a bit over the age that everyone actually is. I think they miscalculated thinking people mainly developed their musical tastes based on what was popular when they were teenagers though, and it's actually what the parents listened to that's the most influential.

I don't know what shoegaze is, but apparently I'm pretty big on it

Defend your taste in music

yesterday

I LOVE SHOEGAZE!! It's a subgenre of indie and alternative rock! The only way I can describe it is that it's kind of fuzzy sounding. I'm not sure if you heard about Wisp but she's a shoegaze artist! (A pretty popular one as well). Slowdive and Whirr are also some well known shoegaze bands ^^.

(Fun fact: The name comes from how the guitarists tend to look down at their effect pedals, but it looks like they're looking at their shoes!)

Yeah I've had some of Wisp's songs pop up here and there, they're pretty fun! Haven't heard of the other two though, maybe I'll check them out.
I'm glad to hear that the peculiar genre name has a perfectly wholesome explanation.

I have the same reaction when my top genres are 4 different kinds or metal/rock and then there's pixie somewhere in there.

I exclusively listen to Lana del Rey while hitting legs at the gym. She was my top artist this year. I hit a lot of leg days.

My top album this year was Random Access Memories by Daft Punk which I listened to for 839 minutes and I will accept no slander over this.
