I'm older today ... yay? I guess.

Meh. I worked from a full shift from last night to morning and I'm doing that again tonight, so it's ... not like I have time to celebrate, really. Not if I want to be awake for work and of course I do. My spouse is also working, so it'd be irresponsible for us both to stay up. I don't have the energy to wait up until my parents are off work so I can go visit my immediate family and everyone else I know is busy right now. Besides, I feel like I'm too old for yet another birthday to matter.

... Granted, that's how I've felt for quite a while. I think the last time I was excited for a birthday was my 16th and it was only because I wanted to be able to drive by myself and get out of the house. After all, smoking never appealed to me, my alcohol tolerance is too high for drinking to be any fun, and voting ... haha ... no. *shrug* 

... Am I weird for that? I know I'm weird for other reasons, I mean for that specifically.

Well, I guess that is just what happens when people get older. I haven't had an actual birthday party since I was nine.

Weird? Why do you worry about being 'weird'? I personally take 'weird' as a compliment.

Yeeeah, my last birthday party was at a bowling alley with a bunch of kids from youth group. >_>' That was a loooong time ago.

Worry? Nah. I'm just wondering if that's common for people my age. I figured birthdays didn't start sucking until a little later.

Not much of a celebration, no. No gifts, but a "happy birthday", and cakes on a few occasions..

My last birthday party was basically two girls that came over for a sleepover, but I hadn't realized they knew each other before. It turned out to be a disaster with them at each others necks all the time. They got sent home before an hour had passed, and I had to clean up the mess, which was quite large for the small amount of time they were there.

Lousy. My 9th birthday sucked, too. We had a couple friends over who were my brother's friends, not mine. It was awkward. We all went to the local fair together, which would've been awesome ... except that I got food poisoning after like, 20 minutes of being there and I spent almost the entire rest of the night in the bathroom...  so ... yeah. Also, county fair bathrooms? Horrible.

I think that birthdays start to get a little less enjoyable when the people you care about are no longer around...

As far as I can tell, it's weird to still be excited about your birthday after about 21. (Which is sad.  Birthdays are great.)

The last birthday I was excited about was my 25^th, because my car insurance rates were lowered.

Haha, I remember the novelty of birthdays wearing off around my 16th too. Though it's still a pretty good excuse to go out with a bunch of friends and do something hilariously stupid.

I actually get depressed on my birthday since you're supposed to do something special but I don't feel like it. It just looks like a sad day to me.

I'm planning on making a sequal/remake eventually based on feedback of it being too short.

I have a very spotty memory. I can remember things like playing dress up with my sister when I was four, and how I danced and pranced around like a pony, but in the middle of speaking, I forget what I had said only a moment ago.

I just remembered that it was in a major derailment the jjj left up. And I knew it was in one of the later ones when people started getting a bit bored. Yeah, people usually think I'm older than I really am. Only a few times has anyone guessed I was younger and only a couple times has anyone been right. My co-workers tease me for being "too young" and the other day, when I had to tell everyone how old I had just turned, they wouldn't shut up about it. A new girl who was working with me was pretty stunned.

The conversation was basically this: "Twenty four." "o.o Really?! You're kidding! But... you don't... act like you're in your early twenties. O_o You're too mature." "Well ... in this job, if I did act my age, I think that would be kind of a problem." "xD ...Yeah."

They said an emoticon? Interesting...

Yep, sure did! It prevents too much stress on the facial muscles. Can't be too careful about preventing wrinkles, you know. :P
