Since it's almost October, how about a ghost? Nothing too spooky though, just something silly like a man draped in a sheet with eyeholes. Maybe the sheet could be tall and pointy on top of his head to make it extra silly.

Because Halloween was originally a religious holiday called All Soul's Day, you could put a big cross in the background, that's like wreathed in fire or something cool like that.

I hate that because of the light when I was taking a picture of it you can see lines from the cat I drew on the other side of the paper. And I draw perfectly good lines, but I always have to make them super dark if I want them to show up well. Maybe I need a better camera...

I was never taught about the Nazi's in school or the Holocaust, but my friends and family told me, along with references from people on t.v.

cool. My friends are mostly people who also are bookworms. We all get As and Bs in school but never really click with others.

That's just insane about schools though, is history somehow just not a subject anymore? We were shown documentaries with survivor interviews in junior high and read Anne Frank's diary.

Real convenient time for the up and coming generation to forget what fascism looks like I guess. But it's just such a part of the culture in movies and other media I'd have figured it's be picked up almost through osmosis. I think I watched Sound of Music when I was like 6 or 7, it had to be explained why the family was fleeing the country so I had a basic idea even then just watching wholesome musicals for children.

(You should btw watch Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark and the Last Crusade, he punches a lot of Nazis to find the Holy Grail and the Ark of the Covenant, fun stuff, and educational!)

Saving Private Ryan and the mini series Band of Brothers (both directed by Spielberg with Tom Hanks involved) are both really well done and more straightforwardly about the war. And there's just a ton of others of course, but I think those would be about your speed.

The funny thing is I'm pretty sure Avo's parents would be shocked if she said she had no ideas who the Nazis were, but they apparently just left it all on the school and the nanny software despite always being at home with her.

history doesn't teach that stuff, it teaches about egyptians discoveries and china's culture and a bunch of stuff. For this year, I have global studies instead of history.

Literally go up to your teacher and ask them to explain World War 2 to you. Teachers enjoy teaching, God knows they must because otherwise they'd be doing anything else and actually getting paid.

The holocaust was the execution of 6 million Jewish people althroughout Europe orchestrated by Hitler and the 3rd Reich. It was done through systematically limiting Jewish people's rights, segregating them into ghettos and sectioned off areas of the neighborhoods, and then taking them away to concentration camps and murdering them. Nazis were German officers who participated in these mass murdering. The German Nazi Party was a political party that headed the 3rd Reich(the system in power during the time of the Holocaust), and the SS was a paramilitary division that helped Hitler rise to power and keep his power for a while

It is one of the most infamous examples of human cruelty, and is the worst event the Jewish people have experienced, and one of the most infamous tragedies in world history. Even today, there's movies, books, memorials, and documentaries about this tragedy.

Many people try and say that the Holocaust didn't happen, and that Jewish people weren't really murdered, so Holocaust denial is often a sensitive subject because it did happen, and people who claim it didn't are bad faith actors or people intentionally trying to be dishonest.

It was primarily done because of racism and a belief in Aryan superiority. Poverty and Economic circumstances after WW1 and before WW2 were really bad in Germany, and Hitler rose to power, basically blaming Germany's woes on Jewish people and using them as a scapegoat. You got to understand, during that time, so many people were anti semitic. There were many people in America that supported Antisemitism, like Henry Ford the man who invented ford cars.

So that's why everyone is surprised, because not knowing what the Holocaust is is a bit surprising because it is such an important part of World History. But now you know! So the next time someone asks, you can say that you know about the Holocaust. History is important because it teaches us lessons about the past. If we don't remember our past mistakes, how will we be better as people?

It wasn't limited to Jews either fwiw, there were many other segments of the population deemed "undesireable" like Black people, communists, gays, and anyone who spoke out for political or religious reasons. Hitler did this by seizing control of all branches of the government and then gaining almost fanatical influence over the population with propaganda etc until they saw him and his policies as the answer to all their problems, a kind of mass delusion.

For the sanity of all adults on this site I'd like to point out that most schools 100% still teach about the Holocaust, Nazis, and all the stuff in that vein. I don't know what sort of schools Blister and Avo are going to, but public schools are still doing their jobs.

Too bad you have to shrink the file sizes down so much, but it sounded like all the image hosting sites are blocked for you.

I feel like threads in general, this one included, die so quickly. The reason I haven't been posting new images recently is that the images have to be big enough that it won't look pixelated and will be visible when I shrink it and I usually draw smaller than that boundary.

     I want to draw images for my stories, starting with the first page of my story Shifter. I'm gonna make several images then add background detail and color them in then I'm hoping I can get feedback on which one to use. I've only got this one so far, and it's uncolored and the background has no detail yet.

Of course, Bugs Bunny was before pretty much everyone's time that posts here, so I wouldn't be surprised if you don't know these characters—although I'm pretty sure reruns continued to happen until streaming replaced cable. These days Big Chungus is known more than Bugs Bunny and Looney Toons.

It took me so long to get the lighting and black right for this to blend into the background well, but ta-da!

Great doesn't necessarily mean good enough... I don't want to make another story just as bad as my first one, especially with how much work I'm putting into this one :(

Publishing 'Ignis and Aero' made me realize that I should be putting dialogues in separate paragraphs and that not doing so was really affecting readability.

Publishing 'Of Dreams and Daemons' taught me that I had a real problem with tense shifting that I needed to figure out a solution for.

Even my recent thunderdome match taught me that ambiguity when using third person pronouns is something I should be mindful of.

Point is, I think there are some lessons that you can only learn by putting your work out there knowing that it probably has a ton of flaws. At some point, you should just say "Screw it!" and hit that publish button. As long as you are trying your best and being receptive to feedback, you will grow as a writer. Publish all the bad stories you need to get to where you want to be. :]

I haven't finished any of my stories yet

I remember Ignis and Aero, and I enjoyed that one. IIRC my complaint was that it a bit short, that there was more meat on the bone. But sometimes deadlines and even boredom cause us to stop writing in a particular world. Still, it was well worth the read.

Also I had the same paragraph issue with my first story, The Ghost People. When I read a couple of my old stories, I see that I was still doing it for a while. Glad I finally learned.

Ignis and Aero was always meant to be a shorter story. It was the first competition I participated in, so I had the idea that I'd publish a small story to avoid being shamed and then focus on a more ambitious entry that I would publish if I could finish it before the deadline.

I ended up publishing said ambitious entry a year later as Of Dreams and Daemons. Clearly I underestimated how long that story would take to finish. XD

What is in the image is something I made in 5th grade, it took me really long to do and I'm proud with how well I did the lines.

Second from right looks creepy. Some sort of monster.

I was given an original image and was supposed to get the same general vibe, that one fits the theme the best. The original had over double the mushrooms, was of higher quality, and looked scarier. It's supposed to be scary but I guess I didn't do that well :(

This was an attempt at a template, but it wasn't good enough. Templates are me making hair designs and head shapes and stuff that I can trace or copy later to make different people and stuff. I call them templates because why not.

I'm out of ideas, I would appreciate suggestions on what to draw. Please stay with kid appropriate stuff because I AM a kid. And not those Cthulhu things unless you tell me what they are, please.

The Cthulhu stuff is from the works of an author named H.P. Lovecraft. He loved to write about giant monsters that are incomprehensibly powerful, and his works are really important to the cosmic horror genre.

Petros was also referencing Lovecraft when he was talking about worshipping Eldritch gods when you first joined the site, it was a joke he was doing.

Sounds like the Terraria team needs to have their lawyers talk to this H.P. Lovecraft.
