Hi, im new. I actually got recommended this page while at DND and i had a look around already and its pretty fun once you find decently written storys! I, myself am not a writer however i'd like to contribute to the site by helping the authors/storytellers at all so if there are any ways or suggestions (or things i should know as a biases), please let me know!

Thanks! -VeeR

Hello! Welcome to the site! I hope you have a great time here. For enjoying reading, I would recommend a ton of games but to take less time the top rated page contains many good stories (if you're someone who doesn't trust links, which I understand, it's storygames on the left then top rated). If you want to read to help the authors as mentioned, on the home page (click home on the left or the bar at the top) there's a section that says top 5 storygames in need and every time you rate one it brings a new one.

This is for reading at rating the games, which is appreciated, but more helpful is reviews. A review is basically an in-depth comment on a story, and this has good suggestions for how to write a helpful review. Again, if you don't want to click the link its Help & Info on the left and almost all the way to the bottom.

     Happy reading! :D

Thank you so much for the tips and recommendation, as suggested i tried out some of the top rated games and was really happy with the quality and challenge it provided! I will do a pledge to make sure every story i read i review for the storytellers as well as the other readers! I will definitely give the list of story games a look and try to get some done on my next visit to the site! Thank you for taking the time to help!

Once you have reviewed a certain percentage (98%+) of the stories on the site you will get a special trophy on your profile.

Hi new, I'm Mystic. Welcome to the site!

Readers are always appreciated and if you can, rating and leaving a review on the storygames you read would help authors plenty. There is a contest which I think you'll be perfect for, here's a link: Hatter's Most Needy Storygames Reading Contest (the premise is just to read as many stories as you can before the year is over).

There's also this thread about writing a story from a DND world, maybe you'll use the advice better than the OP.

Since Mizal is taking a break, I'll echo her normal greeting: now that you're on the forums, you should use the site extension from Brad's profile for dark mode and other cool features. If you want to read some short stories, this recently-concluded Thunderdome thread might be the place to look. Hope you enjoy the site :)

Welcome to CYS! The best way you can contribute, as others have pointed out, is to rate and give good feedback on storygames. Do a lot of that and you'll earn people's respect here.

Lots of people here would appreciate anything you can offer to help them become better writers. Reviews are a useful tool, and so is participating in threads related to writing technique (beneath the cringe threads there are always a few). Even if you're not a writer as you say, I do look forward to reading your advice or personal thoughts on other people's writing. Tell people what works with their stories, what annoys you, what vibe you get. All those things will help and are always appreciated (even when you hurt people's feelings—we've all been there so don't be afraid to be honest).

Welcome, and I hope you enjoy it here.
