Gender options?

Are there any freaking games where I can choose to be a female? I mean, some of these games are so well written and have great concepts but I hate reading myself as a guy banging chics. For me, it should be the other way around and I'm finding it frustrating that one a site dedicated to "choose your own adventure" stories that the very basic, number one option of choosing whether you are male or female is completely ignored it seems.

So, basically, are there any detailed, fleshed out, mature stories on here where I can be a freaking female? Thanks.

I think Dungeon Stompage is the only game I've read so far where you get to choose if you're a guy or a girl, also in Creature and Creature 2, you get to choose which character you play as, and I think one of them's a girl. Can't remember any banging in those stories though, sorry :p

Ah, sex isn't necessary. I was more or less punctuating my point with that. Though it is fun ;-) Thanks for the option.

Homo Perfectus 4 and 5 have you play as a female, but you would have to read the first three, which are in the pov of a male. (don't know about the rest, since I haven't gotten that far yet.)

Hmm, well that might not be so bad. Thanks!

In HP6, Eve is the default character before you start unlocking the rest. In HP8 you can select to be a boy or a girl as well.

HP5 is where you have the option of playing more than one character (one of which being Eve). HP6 only has Eve as the main protagonist.

Unfortunately, unless there's a major difference between the male and female storylines, most authors don't find it worth it to make a separate male and female story, as it's a lot of added work for a small improvement.

Also, a lot of people are worried they can't write from the perspective of the opposite sex.

Interestingly enough, even a decent amount of our female authors write from a male's perspective (or at least try). Outside of some of the romance stories, there really aren't many female leads.

But yeah, the option to choose male or female either adds A LOT of work for the author (if done right), or is incredibly superficial (if done wrong).

As a guy I'd find it odd/difficult to write in a female's perspective. I have female characters who are important in my stories (unpublished ones), which I can write fine, but to actually write from their perspective would be difficult for me.

I, for one, try to avoid writing from the opposite gender.  So, if ever I get my act together and start making and finishing stories, they're likely to be from either a definite female lead, or a very neutral lead.

As for reading, I really don't care what perspective I read from, simply because I'm used to reading a lot of 'straight through' fiction that is from a male POV in the first person, or follows male protagonists.  ;

My issue with sex in those situations is mostly that people can be rather crass about it, and that wouldn't matter if it was from a male or female perspective.

There's many highly rated storygames on this site that have female protagonists.
