Player Comments on So You Want To Join A Cult

I went in with low expections--a survey game? But every page had multiple jokes expressed in the ridiculous choice, and a picture that enhanced the joke.

I started off thinking, well, this is silly, moved to thinking, wow, I'm learning a few things about myself, then back to, no, this is absurd, then back to thinking wait, this *is* the cult I would be in, and then finally, five minutes after playing, wondering what I found so revelatory about it. I guess I was brainwashed by the game, which seems exactly right. Thanks, Berka. I'm prepared to kiss the leader's feet.

This is quite hilarious. Not quite as replayable as I would like, but still a good way to pass time.

The first page was hilarious to read through, I really like the idea of a cult placement being almost like a job interview. There were pictures that contributed to the questions, and enough questions and possible answers that the reader wouldn’t feel restrained.

It isn’t obvious exactly which cult you’re going to get based on your answers, which is a lot better than most sorting hat quizzes. There were a lot of possible cults, all different and interesting enough to convince me to replay a few more times.

I would have liked to see more pages similar to the first one, almost like a job interview with complete with dialogue and descriptions, instead of just barebones questions. It would also have been nice if the reader had been taken to a different page based on their answer, where the interviewer reacted to their answer for each question.

I was told quizzes were a bad idea, but in true CYStian fashion this game just ignores all accepted wisdom and does what it wants, and the results are impressive and fun.

Unfortunately my yoga classes only left me fit to be a disciple of the universe out in the desert somewhere, I probably wasn't even good enough to kill myself when the comet came.

I did notice only a typo in one of the questions, "Gospel Chior".

Just a small remark.

I was on my last claravoyance with 20 on the Supremacist Cult and 7 on the Doomsday Cult, and in the end I finished as the Dear Leader of the Doomsday cult.

Not sure if it's a bug or a final turnabout in the last 4 questions is expected.

Also on some scenarios I replay all the choices on a particular question and my score on a particular group doesn't change.

I quite like the highlighting on the results page, seems such a simple thing on the surface but like most of Berka's games it just screams fancy scripting. I do believe this is the only quiz on the site I ever enjoyed, in spite of--or perhaps BECAUSE OF the fact it discriminates against the blind.
