The closest I've ever gotten was at the end of Snow. I wanted it to turn out so badly! Yeah, definitely misty. But has anyone ever legitimately cried, during a CYS game? 

I've laughed so hard at some of the truly terrible games that I cried, does that count? XD

But no, Snow was the one that legitimately got me the closest to tears, and the 'true' ending of Death Song was pretty touching, but nothing else really struck the same chords.

Had a good few comments on through time of people saying they cried though. I'd imagine the love/dating category is where most of those stories will be.

That's why snow is one of the top story games on this site. It was one of my most favorite stories. One of the first I read On this site. Probably the only one I ever mentally connected with.

My eyes watered when I played Invigilate - but I was up for a few days trying to beat it so my eyes might've just been watery xD

I haven't played Snow because I don't like the genre. Anyway, the most feeling I've gotten from a storygame was Death Song. The ending was poetic and it is currently my second favorite storygame on this site.

Holy fuck... You need to play Snow; it's fantastic. It's definitely up there with the other greats of CYS.

Not blinking makes your eyes dry, not the opposite.

Blinking helps spreads the tears across your eyes. However, if you don't blink, it dries them up and because of this, leaves them at risk from outside objects. I think anyway :p

Your eye can produce water on it's own to try and get the eye back from being dry. I'm not really sure of the whole process but ya.

Technically, it's not your eye producing tears, but the tear ducts conveniently located by your eyes.

I would rather my scent glands behind my eye, so I have a reason to rub my face against women. They need to know when I am ready to mate! The best way to do that, is letting them smell me.

Well, yes, we do scentmark quite a bit, but we don't go rubbin' our scent on each other or anything...well, most of us don't, anyway.

A butt scent gland would be helpful as well, for the same reason.

Death Song made me a bit sad but I never really cried from reading a story.

I can hardly remember the last time I cried reading anything, but I think I was 14, a year after my grandfather died, and reading something where one of the best characters, who happened to be a grandpa-figure, was killed off. I got a lump in my throat and pressed on, because I was in the middle of a classroom and crying there would have been the death of me.

On an unrelated note, the last time I actually cried was during Return of the King, after Theoden died. I was in a class, also.

You'd have to have witnessed my backtrolling in Mage Battle (Long since deleted) to witness such a revelation.

The last time I really cried was watching 12 Years a Slave a few weeks ago, because that funeral scene was just really, really heavy, man.

No, none that I've played. I even played Snow. Maybe I sound heartless, but I barely felt touched by any storygames here. To be fair, if the medium is pure narrative, it takes much more to get any emotional impact out of me. Perhaps I'm a more visual person when it comes to that. I'm usually very sensitive to other media, like movies and even comics.

Well, I cried after I finished all of Ground Zero, I usually do cry when I realize there's no more of any good story.

Also, somehow Snow didn't make me feel anything at all.

Glad to know I'm not the only one.

Then again, I may have been a little...weird in the head while I was reading Snow. I definitely felt sad, but for some random reason I cracked up in the end like the madman I was.

Death Song was definitely very touching though.

I haven't read Death Song yet. 

Snow didn't, but The Make-Believe-Sandbox reduced me to a gibbering wreck. 

None of those are particularly sad, in my opinion.

I think I cried at one of the endings of Eternal (but in my defense, I was already having a sad day at the time.) 

Achievement Unlocked: Made even a murderess cry.

Murderesses cry all the time. They cry in joy. 

But in that case, to make them cry, you have to get murdered by them first.

I like EndMaster's method better.

Well, that method only works for Endmaster...becauses he's Endmaster.

Edit: And, oh, you'd only need to make them think they murdered you.
