So, anyone preparing for Uni? What do you wish to study there?

Son of a- Those are my ideas! XD Though instead of an author, I was thinking a writer for things like TV shows and stuff. Music composition is awesome, and I like drawing in my free time. Basically the arts and entertainment.

Seven years, at least. I started with Sony Acid, and currently, I use Studio One, but I've heard that FL Studio is good for remixes.

Musician is a big one for me, I've planned to start a band with four of my friends when we start uni, but that's just a dream. I also compose a lot of music, both classical and modern. 

I would also love to become an author, but I'm afraid my plotlines are often cliche. I've written a few books, but none have really made me feel like I would be comfortable sending them out to be potentially published yet.

I'm going to university in a couple of years, so I'll probably do a Music degree or something.

Why wait till uni to start a band?

Two of them live in Cairns. They're coming to my town for uni so we have to wait until then. For now, we're making plans and practising solo. Plus writing songs.

I'm doing a year in military reserves and seeing how I like it, otherwise I want to run a small buisness online and sell a few books maybe. 

I'd say it would be waste for you to join the military, but I doubt that you'd listen (or should listen) to Internet strangers. :P

I still haven't made up my mind. . . But after college, maybe I'll start as a writer or an architect. Those are two biggest options for me.

Writing is my passion but I feel like Architecture is definitely interesting.

I may not be on 24/7, but I go to sleep around 2:00 in the morning. I only sleep about four hours after that. I spend an hour eating, an hour playing video games, and 85 percent of the remaining day on CYS. The other 15 percent is eating and playing video games.

I'd do it, for sure. Being paid to play video games, act like a spazz, and be inexplicably famous to millions of total strangers would be an awesome job.

The fact of the matter is, you don't survive unless you're inexplicably famous to millions of total strangers. You only get 5 cents or so if somebody clicks on an ad in your video, (And everyone knows that the only reason anyone actually clicks on that shit is because they're busy fumbling around on their phone and accidentally hit the advertiser's name.) and you'll maybe make some real money if you somehow convince your mostly 10 year old audience to convince their mostly uninformed parents to pay for a subscription. On a time to money ratio, I'm pretty sure your average Let's Player barely makes minimum wage.

... To be honest, I'd really like to make more games and stories. Not ... just here, you understand, and not just for free. I enjoy entertaining people. I like writing adventures and creating characters and building worlds. I wish I could do it more often. Granted, I like saving peoples' lives, too. xD ... It's just that the legal crap and office politics piss me off, and the stress is obviously taking a toll on me.

When I was younger, I really loved the idea of acting. Voice acting. I liked the idea of being famous without having to be in the public eye and that way, people didn't see -me-, people saw whatever badass character I was pretending to be. Just like Dan Green isn't Dan Green to a lot of anime fans, he's Kyo, or Yami, or Knuckles the Echidna.

I'm also a decent singer and I love music, so I wanted to go that route for a while, but I've never really had any faith in myself as a performer. Neither did anyone else, really. I was told I had pipes, but even though I wanted to get singing lessons and try to get ... somewhere, I needed help that I just never got. Before I knew it, I was getting side jobs to help my mom pay bills while teaching my little sister how to read ... life got busy and my dreams started to seem really childish. *shrug*

Who cares if a dream is childish? :D Chase it anyway. Even if it grabs all of your neat, lil', organized future plans, tosses them out the window going "wheeeee~" and runs away again, laughing maniacally. Actually, especially then. XD

I'd say "writer", but nobody's ever seemed to do it well and successfully without dying or otherwise being seriously damaged. Stephen King snorted half of Columbia, pretty much all of the Pulitzer winners are alcoholics, the one guy I can name that didn't really have drug problems was H.P. Lovecraft, and he literally starved to death because the money was shit. Poe got the shitty end of the deal too. Not only did he ony earn $12, but he was an alcoholic too. And then there's all the suicide and depressing shit that comes with having this low-paying-ass job and all the high pressure that comes with it.

Will I write books and things for money sometime? Probably, yes. I'd love to, but I'll be damned if that's the thing I'm going to bet my life on. I'll probably do work in horticulture on the side.

I know that, but if the cancer didn't get him first, he was in the process of starving to death anyway. They found out that he was suffering from some pretty bad malnutrition that might have contributed to his death. Either way, he had to resort to some ghostwriting near the end, which is pretty much the literary equivalent of working the streets because your financial stability is royally fucked.

I pretty much had a crisis with myself after this episode (and after most livestreams). Wasting hours of my life for box-moving xD. But then again, I can't bring myself to unsubscribe.

Right now I'm a Latin teacher, but I'm studying programming too. Hope to one day be a video game designer or something, but for right now, I'd settle for a user-friendly gradebook program.

The thread should be renamed "what do you do/plan to do for a living" since everyone literally started talking about their dreams.

I'm started training to become a scuba diver and I'm going to train to become a master at it, also I am studying for a media production degree. I want to combine the two together and become a wildlife cameraman for marine life. I know its sounds like a hard thing to do but I'm not going to let anything get in the way of me becoming a pokemon master... er I mean marine cameraman.

Still.... I'm not sure about it. I'll just grow older and try to find the job that I like and good at.

My dream is to be a film director (as well as an editor/screenwriter/composer), but I also write songs, have written a novel (unpublished) and I have a lot of interest in being an artist as well. So I'll probably never be successful in any one of these things, because I can't decide what to focus on. I'm far too scatterbrained lol...and far too poor.
