While coding I listen to Rock (usually progressing from modern and punk to classic rock as the night goes on, then I stay with classic rock until I'm done).
While doing any artwork or creative work I listen to various OSTs and epic music compilations etc.
While doing school work or any paper work I listen to classical. Ludovico Einaudi's "In a time lapse" (from home performance
[starts at 2:29]) is a good start as I move on to more classical composers like Dvorak (I like the
9th symphony - "from the new world"), Liszt, and Vivaldi (
Summer).
When I do chores or physical work I listen to podcasts or just my iPod on shuffle (which can range from indie french folk to classical to rock to glitch hop, etc)
My favorite bands are Franz Ferdinand and La Femme. There are very few songs I do not like from either of them.
My taste in music varies, I'll usually find a really good song and listen to it on repeat for hours and hours every day for a month until I find a new jam. There are very few songs I've listened to that I never get tired of (granted, I love 99.5% of my iPod because I constantly update it with new songs and get rid of ones I no longer like; but if I had to narrow it down...), such as:
JJ - Still
Franz Ferdinand -
The Fallen,
What You're Waiting For,
Michael, and
Do You Want To
Glitch Mob - Drink The Sea [Full Album]
The Juan Maclean - Running Back To You
La Femme - Ou va le monde
The Kingpins - L'Aventurier
A Flock Of Seagulls - I Ran So Far Away
Noriel Vilela - 16 Toneladas
I've learned it is very difficult to narrow one's musical tastes down :(
P.S. More recently I like James Blake
