Anyone here ever smoked the lung rape plant?

I actually smoked a bit a couple of years ago, I had quit after a couple months of on and off smoking ciggys.

Once in a long while I enjoy a nice cigar though.  But other than that it's just plain fucking disgusting, bad taste, bad smell.  Makes you feel like shit too. Never going back to that.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

I love cigars, and I smoke cigarettes.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Which brand?

Bad Bad Tobaccy

John Player Blues, usually. No strong preference, though.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Nope, and the people that I knew that stopped always feel the need to kick themselves afterwards while feeling like inconsiderate faggots to those that were around them.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Well, would you look at that. We have something in common.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

I was also one to never keep a dirty sink.

Cigarette smoke is utter fucking tragedy. If I ran around in public forcing people unfortunate enough to be around me to drink mildly poisonous liquids or spraying hazardous vapors into people's faces, I would be arrested.

But unless its specifically posted, anyone can puff their cancer smoke anywhere outside they damn well please. Also, most outside no smoking zones are a joke. My example is also bogus, but whatever, I'm not here to make an actually intelligent point.

Smoking in public is a topic I'm especially biased against.

And another thing, shitbags smoking in their cars with their young children in the back seats seems a lot like child abuse to me.

To answer your question, I've never done it. So hey, don't knock it till you try it right?

Bad Bad Tobaccy

I agree smoking in an enclosed space with children is on the order of child abuse. (except maybe public places like casinos where children shouldn't really be in the first place but it's hard to prevent that)

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Oh, boo fucking hoo, a tiny puff of smoke of second hand smoke, so little you wouldn't even have noticed had you not been staring daggers into every fag in sight like a hyper-moralizing prick, has got into your lungs. Yes, I'm sure that'll be the thing to kill you, that tiny bit of fuck-all nothing. Unless you're spending your life in closed, airtight spaces surrounded by smokers, you'll be fine, be more worried about the radiation you get from air travel, or you know, something actually important like the fat and sugar in food nowadays.

Smoking around kids in enclosed spaces, is a scumbag thing to do, I'll give you that. That I'll allow.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Agree.

At least blow the smoke out a window or something.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Honestly, I don't think parents should smoke at all, but yeah, definitely avoid forcing your kids to.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

I remember my dad used to smoke in the car, but he made sure all of it got out the window.  Never smelled any of it.

While its not generally the best practice, there's still ways of doing it if you know what you're doing.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Eh, smoking is unhealthy and parents have a responsibility to do not life-threatening things to ensure they can take care of their children.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

While I maintain my previous point, you are right though.

He had actually quit for several years, and then picked it back up again when his mom passed.

That's all a story for another time though.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Sorry to hear.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

My mom had me run into the house to light her cigarettes on the kitchen stove when I was seven. Probably wasn't in my best interest, but she was a great mom. If you don't believe it, you can ask her yourself. Even the switches and clubs she used on us were just "good parenting".

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Actually, I almost always smell it before I see it.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

I'm completely against people forcing others to breath unwanted and hazardous smoke. Especially children.

But, did you know that most parents still force feed their kids carcinogens by heating their food in plastic containers and wrappers in a microwave? That's something that I'm adamantly against. Oh, and cell phones.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Does that put carcinogens into your food??
I kinda know about how bad processed meat is, but didn't know about the plastic shit

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Well, now they claim that there are food safe plastics and containers, but I don't see how wrapping food in a petroleum byproduct could really be good for you. It's probably just my overly active imagination, but I feel like the big oil companies might've had something to do with squashing those reports and having them declared to be only "rumors".

Bad Bad Tobaccy

I smoked for nineteen years. I've been smoke-free for longer than that now.

And you're absolutely wrong about "disgusting, bad taste, bad smell. Makes you feel like shit too." Unless you have the flu or something, then the smell is disgusting, but not the feeling of calmness you get. It did make colors less vibrant, though. That's one of the first things I noticed when I kicked the habit.

I guess I didn't completely kick the habit, though, because I still reach for my pocket whenever I get nervous.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

First time I've hear of smoking making colours less vibrant, and it's interesting you noticed.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Yeah, I've never heard anyone else mention it either and most people I've talked with who had recently quit said they didn't really notice a difference. For me, though, it was like the difference between night and day. Almost as if I'd been walking around in a fog. Of course, it might've been more extreme for me since I was a four to five pack a day smoker for about the last ten years before I finally managed to kick the habit.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

I don't smoke but I like to breathe it in secondhand sometimes. It relaxes me.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

I vape like the gay boi that I am, but that's it.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Every time you take a hit of the vape you need to say "no homo"

Bad Bad Tobaccy

I usually say "gimme your dick" in a really deep voice instead.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Lol my friend used to vape and sometimes I'd take a puff just so I could say "come on man" and "give me your soul" mad deep.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Lmao yeah, shit's fun.

Where's Madglee when we need him?

Bad Bad Tobaccy

I'm here. And I just finished my doctorate. My research was actually on electronic cigarettes.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Congratulations, Dr. Madglee

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Thanks! That was extremely tiring. I am glad to be finished before my senescence fully kicks in.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Alright, I'll bite, what does mental health have to do with researching electronic cigarettes?

Bad Bad Tobaccy

I've been smoking cigarettes for three years now. I love cigarettes. It calms me when my nerves are shot and they taste fantastic after you just had a meal or you were stuck in a god awful line for thirty minutes. It usually throws me around cool people (other smokers who also have to leave the room).

Of course, I've noticed the negative repercussions of it. My throat gets clogged with phlegm which I can hack up on demand. Running for longer periods of times now physically hurts my lungs and causes me to stop; same thing with swimming and all exercise, really. The smell lingers, but that's easily fixable with cologne. And it's generally frowned upon in most social groups (unless everyone's smoking, then its frowned upon not to smoke).

I recently tried switching to vaping because its more socially acceptable. Unfortunately, it's more high maintenance but it gives me my nicotine fix. If something bad happens to it (coil burning, battery overheating, tank busting) then it costs more money to maintain a vape than it is to buy cigs & a lighter.

I don't know though, smoking in general is something I enjoy. I won't quit anytime soon, even if I stop cigs and switch exclusively to vaping. I enjoy it, but I don't smoke in non-smokers cars and force it down anybodies throats.

3 years? Aren't you like 15?

Bad Bad Tobaccy

I'm 17 turning 18 in like five months.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

If one of you guys are lucky enough to get the cancer that allows you to get that neat Soundwave like voice box, go around singing this song for the lulz.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Sweet cheeses. I remember this guys' commercials. Hole in the throat, always talking some scary shit about the procedures he had to do at night and how he couldn't go swimming. Creeped me out good, this was the only "No smoking" message I ever needed.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Both my parents smoked and then spent years trying to quit and my dad (with his one and a half lung) never quite managed to entirely. Occasionally I buy him those little plastic filters that catch the tar and let you see the black goo that would be coating the inside of your lungs otherwise because I want to make him feel bad.

I don't smoke, never did, never saw the appeal. Cigarettes are expensive af for one, and there are plenty of bad habits I can pick up that won't give me cancer and make it hard to breathe or turn the walls and my teeth yellow and make my clothes and the inside of my car reek. (Plus I probably took in more than enough of that shit second hand growing up...)

Also it would probably make me anxious to know that I was utterly dependent on lighting a cigarette to not feel anxious. Same reason I finally kicked my caffeine addiction, it's bullshit and pathetic to need a crutch like that to even function.

The only upside really is that it would make people avoid me.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Those are all good reasons.  When I used to smoke it would cure my stress for maybe fifteen minutes, then I'd get a headache from not having nicotine and needing to smoke another cig just to get rid of it.  Never going back to that shit.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

I only smoke socially, (read: I smoke copiously when I'm drunk) but it doesn't really have much of an appeal to me. Don't really get why people like it so much.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

I am partial to Henri Winterman Cigars and smoke them on a fairly regular basis :) I think cigarettes taste like car fumes though I enjoy apple and mint shishas :)

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Bad Bad Tobaccy

I missed one thing.

For some reason Cigars don't bother me.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

I don't smoke and don't ever plan to. The smell alone makes me feel sick. Even if it was good for my health (which it isn't, quite the opposite) I couldn't manage to bring a cigarette close to my face. I also don't wish to pay a lot of money each year to potentionally get cancer. I'm sure I can find other ways to calm down and feel better, like good music or going outside.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

I never have. I never will.

I live in an area where three highly prized commodities are lottery tickets, alcohol, and cigarettes. I see what those death sticks do to poor hickabillies, and I'm poor myself. Hobbies like music, writing, and CYS seem much safer and less likely to give me cancer (especially since I don't have health insurance). :)

Bad Bad Tobaccy

With all respect, I never understood why people got into them. Most people I ask will say peer pressure, but is there any other reasons? I mean, they look nasty, smell disgusting, have multiple horrible health risks, etc.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Makes you look cool?

Bad Bad Tobaccy

I haven't met anyone who thinks it looks cool, although I suppose it's probably with how kids think vaping makes you cool, but smoking is with older people, if that makes sense?

Bad Bad Tobaccy

There was a huge initiative awhile back, it was called Healthy People. There was a 2001 agenda, and then a 2010 agenda. There's probably another one.

It was basically a way to deprogram everyone from thinking smoking was cool. It pretty much worked. Most of the research shows that teens no longer think smoking is cool, and there has been a record reduction in tobacco use.

People are starting to pick it up, again, though. There's actually a lot of misperception currently spreading about electronic cigarettes - most of the ads I see imply that young nonsmokers are flocking en masse to ecigs due to the fancy colors and flavoring. There is also a growing misperception that ecigs are as, or more deadly, than cigarettes.

Socialising and it looks cool.

Of course, it doesn't when you're 35 pushing spawn around with a pram, but while you're still sexy and young?

Bad Bad Tobaccy

It's quite enjoyable, calms you down, they taste nice and they're great for socializing.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Sorry to hear about your unbalanced womanish hormones leaving you in constant need of being calmed down.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Perhaps relaxes was a better choice.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Nicotine is demonized because of how addictive it is and because the main method of delivery is a deadly poisonous one. There are multiple beneficial effects of nicotine on the body, and one is anxiolytic in nature.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Whoah, There he is, in the nick of time. The "cool old guy admin," as I thought of him, from when I first signed up on this site.

Congratulations on your doctorate. I remember your talking about that goal a long time ago. Really cool to hear that you did it.

Ironically, the last exchange we had was about cigarettes and ecigs. Your being back for this thread is kinda incredible.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

I think he's about End's age. Are you really going to make them fight for cool old guy admin status?

Bad Bad Tobaccy

End is timeless.

And wasn't an admin back then.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Endmaster has controlled the site for a very long time, he just doesn't bother hiding the strings now.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Although seeing End and Glee throw shit at each other could be one of the most gratifying things I've ever seen.

Sidenote, missing out on Havvy's short stent sucks.

That may be what he wants us to believe. But when the founders were still around, they were able to keep him at bay. Once they dispersed, his rise to power was inevitable.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

I think Madglee is older by a few months or maybe a year.

Though Berka may very well be older than both of us.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Yes, I am mortal. And have been around since about 2003. I've just been busy with aging out of my young adulthood into my senescence.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

I don't smoke because if I'm going to get addicted to something, it sure as hell isn't going to to be to something as lame as nicotine.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Basically, the goal should be not to get addicted to everything. All of them creep up. Nicotine just grabs on like crack or the potent opiates/opioids. It alternates between 1-3 on level of most addictive substances known to man. Crack usually wins, suprisingly.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

I've read that Oreos can be as addictive as cocaine, where do they fall on the list?

Bad Bad Tobaccy

The white stuff is crack.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

Oh, madglee lives! Congratulations, Doctor.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

This is not to be rejoiced. His return only pushes him back to the top of the active list, and now I have to wait even longer for him to disappear and become inactive again so I can get my trophy.

Bad Bad Tobaccy

I'm on the fast track to lung cancer, yeah. Usually I just roll my own but when I can afford it I prefer to get a pack of Marlboros. Only ever had one but I'd love to have cigars more often.

E: read through some of the thread, I don't like smoking in public and whenever I do I be sure I'm not around anybody, or at least not anybody who isn't smoking. I'll definitely never smoke around children. Also Madglee is back so that's cool
