In recent years, bots have been a pretty normal part of CYS. It's not uncommon to notice one making a terrible attempt at a thread reply with a "hidden" link, in the dead of night, when it thinks everyone is asleep (but I refuse to sleep).

A little while back, Sent went on a literal nine-hour or so journey to whack as many of these foul creatures as he physically could, before he valiantly swore off the newfound addiction. I'm happy to say that the resident penguin admin has cut back to just a few bots a month.
Anyway, for the past couple of days, I've been using Google to pile up a list of whatever bots I could find. It's surprisingly easy if you use the right words- "casino" yielded a lot of results, in particular. The sad part is that these bots are almost always on the first page of Google, some even being the very first result. Even more reason to have them destroyed.

So, disclaimer, you shouldn't click on any of the links from the profiles on this list. Don't listen to the promises of power tools and online Australian gambling.

Might need a system in place that uhh, trips up bots at the stage in which before they even make their accounts? 

Killed them all (I think)

Though I probably should have just promoted Sherb to do it.

A victory for the website

One ascension to godhood and a two week hunt through the database later, and I think I got them all- CYStia is a botless realm, at the time of this post (barring Larimar, I'd never purge him). It is my hope that generations of CYStians both present and future will now never have to worry about the threat of online casinos and fake cookie clicker links.

The final number of purged bots is 1099.

Probably the worst part of the job was when I pulled up the carpet and about fifteen bots, all claiming to be named Robert, came crawling out.

Anyway, it's extremely late now, so I shall turn the tism off and go to bed. Goodnight.
